Presents?

Hey! All of you Harvard acceptees, I'm wondering what Harvard sent you upon acceptance? T-shirts? Posters? Keychains? What?
Just curious because their endowment is so much...maybe they sent you like cars or something?

Thanks!

Colleges do that?

So far, Harvard has only sent admitted students a car decal with the Harvard seal on it, as a gift from the Harvard Coop.

you could also consider it a gift that Harvard is the only school that doesn't force admitted students to deposit.

come on, isnt admission to harvard enough of a gift?!??!

truth to that.

Haha ^ I agree... apparently Yale gave out T-shirts or something :-x

yep, last year Yale gave my sister dark blue t-shirt with the bulldog small on the front left side and Yale 2010 very big on the back in white block lettering, if anyone was curious :).

really?? now i'm excited for my yale decision :)

If you go to prefrosh weekend (around April 21st) you do get a free Harvard t-shirt.

Heyy Yale doesn't require a deposit...plus, we got a tshirt and a pennant :-)

T-shirt and key chain are nice, but they have nothing on Boston College. Once you're enrolled, BC will give you a "Superfan" T-shirt, a Jesuit Prayer book a.k.a. the Little Red Book (I'm not kidding about this one), and a non-fiction book (which you might have to read over the summer if you're taking Intro Lit in the fall). Top that Harvard.

Oh wait...what? Harvard is giving out free education for students of parents making less than $80,000! Oh...It's topped.

I think it's $60,000.

Haha, but is it for acceptees or enrollees? ;)

I mean, I know Harvard gives you official Harvard cookie-cutters... but only if you enroll.

i heard we get cookies, not just cookie-cutters. oh yea. lol

If you're talking about the t-shirts (I'm not sure) then you get them if you go to prefrosh weekend, whether or not you end up enrolling.

MIT gives you confetti and a poster with the acceptance letter, snowflakes during the winter holidays, and chocolate during Valentine's Day.

I heard someone else got a cd of choral recordings from the EC groups there? I haven't gotten anything. But yeah, our presents kinda suck. I was talking to a Yale '11 admit and we traded passwords for the admit sites. I have to admit, their admitted students section was FARRRR superior to the Harvard admitted students section. And I WANT A FREE TSHIRT. gets ornery

Look at the bright side. You may not get many gifts in advance, but once you're there, you get to make waffles imprinted with Veritas in their waffle makers.

http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=510133

And you will get a very cool Harvard Class of 2011 t-shirt at the admitted students weekend ... along with the notorious red folder.

Why is the red folder notorious?

Referring to twinmom's post below. I don't know how this ended up above her post.
