okay...i just got accepted to this presidential class room (science, technology one...almost like youth leadership) for a week in D.C.

now i really want to go....and it's a good excuse to get away from my parents for a week, but i hear it's a scam...then others say it has been an amazing week of their life.

can anyone give me details about it? i'd feel bad not going...i'd lose my deposit money

what do your teachers think of it? teachers at my school ususally know if something is worthwhile or not...like do you remember in middle school when ppl invited kids to those "people to people student ambassador" stuff for washington dc?? well, i got invited and thought it was pretty good. but my teachers told me that it's really nothing--just spending a bunch of money...i believed them so i didn't go...and i'm glad i didn't b/c later i won some essay contest got to go to D.C myself as a vip. do YOU think the thing is worthwhile?

i have no personal experience, but i met a woman whose son went last year ans said it was great and she plans on sending her daughter in two more years when she is old enough.

From everything I have read it’s lots of fun, very expensive, and will not impress colleges. So if money if no issue for your family at least it’s lots of fun and you get to impress some people, your family, and yourself. It’s only a scam in that they make it seem like an honor that you were invited.
