Despite the media’s blackout of Ron Paul, whom they fear because he is anti-establishment, he is rising. He was 4th place in Michigan, and then 2nd place in Nevada, and seemingly 2nd in Louisiana caucuses.
We are down to 5 candidates:
Mitt Romney - He will keep funding himself until the end
John McCain - Despite knowing nothing about the economy, he is loved by the media and will stay in
Mike Huckabee - out of money
Rudy Giuliani - hasn’t proven himself, and will lose in florida
Ron Paul - in it for the long haul

I’m not American, but here is my humble opinion.

Islamic terrorists don’t despise freedom. They despise American bases in sovereign states, the opportunistic military funding that the US has exhibited over and over again, and the funding of Israel. No major politician recognizes this aside from Ron Paul, who is insane in other ways.

I would rather live with the risk of being killed by a terrorist than having my civil liberties systematically stripped from me in order to “protect” me. The thought that a candidate would be unwilling to take nukes off the table, would be unwilling to negotiate with a nation and would use fear to gain votes, is simply sickening.

Until a realistic candidate acknowledges these problems, I don’t think that many of the fundamental problems facing the United States will be solved. Simply looking at voting records on The Patriot Act, for example, indicates that no candidate would truly serve the nation.

According to that argument, Ron Paul is the most suitable (he also voted against the patriot act). But how is he “insane in other ways”?
