The Presidential Scholars Award chooses 30 candidates from each state by SAT score, and there are around 300 people across the country who score perfect. Afterwards they choose based on extraordinary merit in the community and in academics.

I live in California and I got a 2390. Do you think that I will make the cutoff? Will there be 30 people who scored perfect in my state? I'm kind of scared since I already know 1 from my school and another from a nearby school.

I really want to go see the White House and see if I would like to have a career in politics! I have to get in somehow first, and I was hoping to do so through the Presidential Scholars Award. Are there any other (less selective) programs that I could enter?
