Presidential Scholars Program 2013

Hi Everyone!
So I realize that this is really late but I just found out about the Presidential Scholars Program and wanted to know more about how they invite people to apply. I'm a senior and I got a 2370 on my SAT but I wasn't invited to apply back in January. I talked with a few other people from my school who were invited to apply and were also chosen as candidates and they received lower scores than I did on the SAT (they did not take the ACT). Does anyone know the reason why I was not invited to apply? (Btw, I'm talking about the initial application to the program, not any of the semifinalist/finalist stuff because I know getting chosen for that takes a lot more than good SAT scores.) Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I was chosen as a candidate this year (1600/2370 SAT). Unfortunately, the deadline for the application was February 28. The scholars program is only based on cr +m by the way. In a ideal world, you would have called up the program a month ago and told them that you thought that you were eligible, and they would say “oh yeah, you are! We’ll send you an application!” I would still call and see if they’ll let you fill one out anyway.
