If my son is somehow able to get into the PSP, does anyone know how they view outside scholarships? Would a student be able to stack them since the PSP is a full tuition scholarship? I'll probably call Mudd on Monday but I thought I'd ask here.

If you look at there financial aid materials, you’ll find that if Mudd Scholarships+Outside Scholarships > Total Cost of Attendance, then they’ll reduce the Mudd scholarship money until you just meet the total cost.

Would the “total cost of attendance” include tuition, room, and board? Books and fees, too?

So, in a fictional scenario, a student gets the full tuition. Then they bring in about 8K of outside scholarships. That leaves 5K out of pocket. (Assuming costs above tuition will be about 13K)

Is this a correct way to look at it? They won’t reduce the full tuition scholarship if one has outside scholarships, correct?

Mudd adds outside scholarships to the PSP. They do not reduce the full tuition award. The only scenario where they might (ask them?) is if outside scholarships plus PSP exceed entire COA.
