Presidential Scholars Program

I was reading about this in the BC brochure and it seems like a really great program. Does anyone know if it really is as good as it sounds? And if it is, how hard is it to get into the program?

Yes, the presidential scholars program IS as good as it sounds. I am not a presidential scholar but i know a couple of people who are.

Presidential scholars get have their entire tuition paid for (33 grand) for four years and are enrolled into the honors program. They get some perks like a trip each year in the summers (although they do have to pay for it).

As far as getting into the program, you have to have applied early. Only early action applicants are considered for the scholarship. and i believe the site says that these applicants are usually the top 1-2% of applicants in the nation. BC flies you out (if you live far away) sometime in february to check out the campus, talk to faculty, and so forth. There, I believe there is narrowing down to the top 15 finalists through another essay?? i'm not positive, but i believe that's how it goes.

Presidential Scholar is a great opportunity; I wish I had known about it when I was looking into the school. Good for you, silver, for doing your college research. =)

Good luck!
