Presidential Scholarship?

Wondering about likelihood of of son being considered for this, assuming he will get in academically. Do they give to musical theatre kids? Son has had major/lead roles in 3 high school productions per year since freshman year. Not majoring in theatre, but very strong in voice/act/dance. Great recommendations. Lots of experience (including ensemble in nationally known regional theatre) and good videos.

Would be entering in 2015 from Honors Program in Catholic Prep School in midwest. Very interested in WF and want to make the trip to visit, but cannot afford full tuition (but will probably not qualify for financial aid) so wondering if it's even worth it.

thoughts?

Boys who are strong in musical theatre are usually in demand, so that should help him. Winston-Salem is a great arts town; good community theatre plus North Carolina School of the Arts in addition to Wake productions.

My child had very similar background to your S but was not offered the Presidential Scholarship – wound up at W&L as a Johnson Scholar and has been able to stay involved in theatre & music there although not a major.
