So I have less than a week now to decide where I want to be for the next 4 to 5 years of my life. My choices with the total I will be paying each year are:

Northeastern (Honors) $18,000
Lehigh University $20,000
Syracuse University $14,000

I will be doing engineering wherever I end up, specifically industrial or mechanical.

There are pros and cons with each choice. Each school is unique (won't go into details) and offers a very different college experience.

Based mostly on job outlook after school vs. cost of attendance, which school would you choose?

I know many of you will say to visit each campus and choose which one "feels right." However, I would greatly appreciate any comments and information you have to offer.

If you do stay with engineering then there should be little difference in the education level between the schools. They should all meet ABET standards and my understanding is engineering salaries are relatively undifferentiated from the schools (it’s more from the locations where you work). That being said and all other things being equal, I would pick the cheapest.

Thanks for the feedback.
When considering syracuse the main attraction for me is the price. When I visited I liked to campus and especially enjoyed the school spirit. All the buildings looked beautiful on the outside, but the engineering building seemed a bit run down and out of shape on the inside. Being an engineer, I feel like I would be spending a ton of time here, and I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a dark and dilapidated environment.

That’s the second person tonight who has given me the same advice. I will be paying for school entirely by myself but I do agree that it is more important to be where I want to be. I liked all three schools and all things considered they seem about even. Overall, I’m having a tough time deciding.

hey andrew, one word- SYRACUSE.
From my experience (been there twice), it’s pretty well known and has a nice student body. The city itself around campus is good, although there’s homeless people sometimes. Winter is a biTch there though, snow up to the roof. People just stay in and drink. Syracuse is a VERY big alcohol school, more specifically, BEER. Because they have a very good journalism program, the girls are eye candy (although sl*utty sometimes but its fun lol).

Congrats, I was in a similar situation for business (Except I didn’t get into Lehigh…) and I decided on Cuse. Mostly due to the reputation of the business program and what BMW mentioned lol. But Northeastern will treat you will, the co-op looked great and Boston’s amazing!
