I just did it and found that, although the passages are similar, the sentence completions are much harder. Like i usually get all the words in the blue book, but i get stumped by words on the pretest half way through the SC section. This is consistent with like every practice test i've done so far... kaplans, PR, official CB tests.

I don't really think it is harder than the Blue Book. I got my first 800 on CR on the current pre-test (the March 2005 one). It might have been that you just happened to not know many of the words on that particular test for some reason.

BUT, I did notice that the 1st practice test on the CB Online Course was definitely harder than the pre-test. On the pre-test, last week, I scored a 2380 (800 CR-2 wrong, 790 Math-1 wrong, 790 Writing-0 wrong/8 essay). I was so happy that my practice/prep had payed off. Then today, I took the 1st Online Course test. I got 5 wrong for CR, 2 wrong for writing, and 1 wrong for math. Taking the middle of the score ranges yields 720 CR, 765 WR (10 essay-only thing I'm happy about), and 775 M. That would be a 120 point drop. Using the March scale, it would be 740 CR, 770 W, and 790 M (still an 80 point drop). It is discouraging to see my scores fluctuate so.

I haven't found that the blue book tests are at all accurate for predicting actual test scores. I scored 100 - 150 points lower on the actual test than the blue book. The number of questions listed as hard are far fewer than on the actual tests.

Yea but I am not even comparing the Blue Book to the Online Course. I am comparing an actual SAT (March '05) with the first test of the Online Course, and asserting that the latter seemed more difficult.
