Great Rec's & Essays (Including 1 from a known Georgetown Professor)

Schools:
Boston University - Match
Georgia Tech - Match
Syracuse - Match
NYU CAS - High Match
Emory
University of Rochester
Carnegie Mellon H&SS - High Match 3.58 CMU GPA
Georgetown - Cousin is a professor
Tufts
Cornell
UCSD - Seems like a match when looking at the website with the points (3.58 UC GPA)

I have been thinking about taking Tufts off my list since it's the one I would least want to go to.

Yeah, then take it off if you wouldn't like to go. It's also a reach so it's not especially likely you'll get in.

What do you guys think of my list? What are your opinions on my safeties/match/reach?

bump......

Pretty accurate, I would put Carnegie melon as a Slight Reach, but High Match works as well :-)

Only reason I put it as a high match is because of the school i'm applying to. H&SS, 3.5 is the average GPA, which mine is slightly higher, my ACT is right in the range too. But thanks alot!

Anyone else?

bump
how does Cornell look for me?

Cornell - Enormous Reach

You have grist for a compelling essay as well as work experience and URM status, which will help very much, but your ACTs/final GPA will largely dictate the success of your application.

Lol I get extremely opposite responses in each forums...hmm

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=392379

bump................

Slight reach at Cornell and Match to slight reach at University of Rochester.

Don't know about Emory. It's the local top school, so probably depends on your major and how many others apply. I would think they would cut you a break--so it's probably High Match.

Alright, that sounds more realistic than wayward_trojan's reply. ;)

I'm currently competing in Math Tournaments and FBLA tournaments to win some awards.

Thanks Calcruzer!
Any others?

what is H&SS?

College of Humanities and Social Sciences (H&SS)

...and what exactly are the classes you take? and major? jobs? etc

thanks lol

? I'm not in college....
I already posted the classes I'm taking.
I'm a soccer Coach, and I work at the YMCA

lol i am talking about within H&SS?

www.cmu.edu check it out :) I went on a presentation that Carnegie-Melon did. The school looks pretty fun, and H&SS is mostly Social Sciences, I'm not sure about the Career Opportunity though

bump.......
