Price of Season Football Ticket

<p>As a Tulane alum and avid football fan, I can tell you the main reasons that tickets are so cheap:
1) a lack of a consistent winning program even against CUSA opponents
2) large geographical range of alumni
3) off campus stadium (playing in the Superdome doesn't equal a great college football experience)
4) too many other things to do in the area (Saints, Hornets, Festivals, ect.)
5) Tulane's sole fans are alumni (unlike Notre Dame and large state schools for example) while most locals are LSU fans</p>

<p>I thought Rivals came up with a neat ranking/list. As an Auburn season ticket holder (tons of family connections) I'm not surprised by their high rank. If Tulane does build a new on-campus stadium, I'll be first in line for season tickets regardless of their cost.</p>

<p>A lot of public schools do the same thing. Every public school in North Carolina offers free tickets to its students, for example. Not sure about other states but it is not uncommon. :)</p>

<p>Well pierre, of course if it isn’t charged for separately it is paid for out of tuition, fees, donations, etc. The money comes from somewhere! Different schools just choose to account for things differently. The ones you got accepted “to” probably just thought it was fairer to charge only those that attended, rather than students who have no interest in sports.</p>
