Princeton 2014 Hopefuls: Let's get to know each other!

Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Duke, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, UPenn, Columbia, Georgetown, WashU, Northwestern, Cal Tech, UC - Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, NYU.

Good luck Yalies!

Congrats, natim1, on Princeton. It would be soooo nice to know this soon :wink: I’m sure you’ll be fine, as long as you don’t get, say C’s or something, lol.

@insomniac: OMG yes! Haha. I keep going through phases where I imagine acceptance, thinking I had a pretty good shot, then convincing myself that I’ll be deferred since there’s no way I really stack up to all those other 5000+ applicants.

But if I don’t get in tomorrow, I would totally transform my Yale love to Princeton love and wait for March results! XD

17 schools?? Man, that’s crazy! (In a good way, though, lol)

I’m just waitin on good ole Yale tomorrow before I submit any more apps other than HP.

So basically this is the “YALE IS AWESOME (but Princeton is good too)” club.

Let the wait begin.

I applied to 14 total. Two safeties Rollins/CO School of Mines, HYPS, Hopkins, Emory (scholars program), Duke, Vandy, MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Cornell.
But I doubt I’ll get into most of them.

As long as Princeton (dream!!) or Dartmouth accepts me, I’ll be the happiest person ever :)

@tristan

I’m totally going through the same thing!! I have those “I’ll totally get in, how could I not?” moments, and then I have those depressed “Why would they ever want me?” moments. Haha. I’m really trying to resign myself to being deferred, though. God, I can’t wait until all this suspense is over.

@portugueseninja

I wouldn’t necessarily say that. I actually feel like Princeton is my top choice. I think we’re all just really excited about Yale at the moment because we get our decisions tomorrow. If Princeton still did Early Decision, I totally would have done that instead, but they don’t. I think all of us here are pretty in love with Princeton (even if we love Yale too).

Wow. It seems like we have a lot of common school choices in this group. :)

Yup, definitely. P-ton was my top choice for about two years. Then, in my rush to compile things for Yale EA, I grew more and more in love with it after all that research and meeting fellow CC SCEAers. Now, I honestly don’t know which I prefer. Again, kudos to P-ton’s campus, but I love everything else about Yale.

If P-ton had kept its ED or even EA, for sure I would have applied to that, since I would have never gotten the chance to fall in love with Yale. :)

That’s the same situation I’m in. :slight_smile: I’ve been in love with Princeton for roughly three years, and about a year ago I decided that I should apply to Yale as well to cover my grounds (they both offerred what I wanted). Then I did the campus visits, Yale being first. I immediately fell in love with Yale (as did my dad who was with me), and then a few days later, we visited Princeton and decided that it was probably better for me. There are certain things about both schools that I love and certain things that I don’t really like. It just depends on my mood. But because I’ve been obsessing over my Yale application because of SCEA, I’ve definitely fallen much more in love with it, and now I’m not sure which school is my first choice… To make things easy, I’ll just go with whichever one I get into (if I even get into one of them). :p

me applying!!!

Princeton was actually the first one I fell in love with when I discovered it was possible to apply to the US <3

I have a question, and I don’t mean this at all to come across as *****y so sorry if it does! If Yale isn’t your top choice, why have you applied SCEA? Is it to increase your chances of getting in? Or just because you can? I’m just curious :)

Why does it censor b i t c h y, that’s not a bad word! Sigh.

^ lol. Are you actually Portuguese?

Pton is without a doubt my first choice! I got deferred from Yale SCEA, though, so I am feeling a little less confident about Pton. Oh well, now is the time to throw myself into my essays.

Same here. Not feeling the Yale love so much now. I’m having a terrible time accepting this, but hey, I never liked Yale’s campus that much anyway. (<–half-hearted attempt to feel better)

princeton = life.
definitely didn’t want yale (applying there for my mother)
i feel like such an outcast, but i’ll stay true.
and maybe be a tiger for the class of 2014?

oh well, it’ll work itself out.
just hate the waiting!! :(

^^ me neither. Honestly, I think it was/is more of a blow to my pride than to my future. No worries, guys. :D

^yeah, me too!

Princeton is tied for my second choice for me with Harvard, right after MIT. I’m debating between either Physics or Engineering.

Wow, some similarities here.

I absolutely ADORED princeton for 2 years, then applied to Yale SCEA basically because it was the only early school I was applying to. Then I fell in love with Yale.
Now I’m deferred from Yale. SO I can go back to loving Princeton :).

I guess I feel confident about Princeton because I went to a summer program that does very well in Pton admissions and I have a letter from a very influential alumnus. Well, I felt confident about Yale too, and look how that turned out.

I think we should make this thread INCREDIBLY long like the Yale SCEA thread. I need SOMETHING to do to spend my time from now 'til March!!!
