Nah; I don’t think so.
He used score choice. No.

Ahhh if only Princeton still had ED :/

^ That’s what she said?

I’m sure there’s a good ED joke in there somewhere, but it’s eluding me.

^LOL 10 char.

Penn '15 ED would make a better joke ;)

Damn, about the SAT retakes, I’m at a quandary.
I got a 2330, 800 Writing, 780 Math, 750 Reading Comp, and what kills me is that if it was ordered differently (800 math, 780 rc, 750 writing), I’d be content since writing isn’t as important.
My grade numbers aren’t too great, so I was wondering if I should retake it because everything counts, I guess, and maybe to strengthen this part of my app to make up for the grades…

But if it looks bad to retake that kind of score, I’d obviously not do it. What have you guys heard about this?

Your score is great, don’t work yourself up.

Grade deflation had turned me off from Princeton, but after spending a few days here for water polo camp, I have come to really like it. Yale is still my number one, but I will definitely apply to Princeton.

@tolalvtweety
lol thanks, but I don’t have a problem with working myself up…I just don’t know what the right choice would be in this case.
The transcript is universally the heart of the application, so I’m just seeing what I would need to do to make up for losses there…

If I were you I’d contact the admissions office asking how much retakes effect admissions (if you’re worried about it being a stupid question just do it anonymously). It can’t hurt and normally they’re pretty straight forward in their responses (I asked if selfstudy APs were factored into admissions and they said no (!)) so it’s worth a shot

2330 is a good enough score for any college. You shouldn’t waste time retaking it.And there’s always the chance your score won’t improve.

@RustGust,
I understand what you mean. Often times, we driven students feel like we have to make up for blunders in the past. If your transcript is really worrying you, I would suggest that you address it directly or indirectly in your essay. You may want to write about an extracurricular passion of yours. Write about it then somewhere in there talk about how your involvement in this hobby made you realize that you are capable of achieving more in other areas of your life, such as academics.

Alright, I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks, guys!

Is the grade deflation really that bad? Plus I just have a feeling that between now and being a freshman in college the policy will have at least some sort of revision just because of all the complaints. Thoughts?

No, if you read the policy by the president and deans, they have no intention of changing Princeton’s grading guidelines. They are still campaigning for other Ivies to install their quotas, but that is not happening either.

However, the admission rates of P students to med and law school is not declining, they still have excellent admissions rates. The grad programs know of P’s policy and are considering that.

Do not let the grade deflation affect your decision about Princeton–the education and experience is incredible.

Beautiful campus, but why are so many of the students obsessed with the creepy eating clubs and a Capella lurking? It is really weird!

Well, my high school has some band jam sessions going on during some days and just walking by and hearing them makes my day infinitely better. I’d love to ‘lurk’ around different A Capella performances throughout campus.

About eating clubs, I’ve never really heard or been part of anything like them, so it’d be cool to try it out and get a feel of an even smaller community on campus. While eating! It’s perfect.

^^ What makes you describe eating clubs as “creepy”?

Go Princeton! The mascot is even in my name. I’m a legacy with mediocre stats hoping to get lucky.

Lol i hope your name isnt tiger woods . ahah
