@ScienceDaddy, I’d suggest that you contact your interviewer by email, just politely reminding him/her that you’re an SCEA applicant looking for an interview. Something along those lines, if you haven’t already!

My interviewer called me to schedule, which I thought was a nice touch.

SSN is not absolute necessary for SAT and for Princeton application, right? Since per case of “ispmoonlife”, SSN is the issue. What if someone never submitted SSN when taking SAT, and never submitted SSN when submitting college application in Common App?

So how important is the Princeton interview anyway?
My son had one few days ago, and he said he didn’t do great just OK.
I hope it’s not detrimental to his application.

How do you know if your letters of recommendations are really good if you can’t even see them.

@StevenToCollege From what I can garner from the Admissions website, interviews are minimally important. In other words, as long as your son did not majorly screw up his interview (which it seems like he hasn’t), the interview will not play an important role.

It’s mainly just to verify that you can speak/think on a fairly high level and you aren’t a crazy sociopath or something.

I just found this forum and read through it! Pretty neat stuff.

I too applied SCEA to Princeton. I’m eagerly awaiting December 15th.

My interview is on Saturday. My interviewer called me to schedule.

Have they actually said the 15th somewhere? I have only seen mid December.

Usually the third Monday, right? Idk what it really is that’s just what I’m guessing.

Oh shoot, I just realized I uploaded the 128 kbps mp3 version instead of the 320 kbps version of my arts supplement…the 128 kbps version sounds somewhat tinnier/harsher. With decent headphones I can’t tell the difference but with noise-canceling I definitely can. Hopefully whoever listens to music supplements doesn’t have high-end audio equipment (who am I kidding they probably do). Ugh I hate myself

@hopefulperson Don’t worry about it!!! I highly doubt it’ll really matter. As long as you didn’t apply as a Music major, I don’t think the difference between 320 kbps and 128 kbps will make or break your application. Even if you did apply as a Music major, you said yourself that the difference was almost unnoticeable! It’s so easy to criticize every tiny aspect of our already submitted applications (I’m guilty of this too…) but the best thing now is to put our Princeton applications behind us and hope for the best.

@nolasaxman Yeah that’s what I thought too! Third Monday of December.

Everyone pray for my November SAT scores

just schedule my interview at dunkin… how do these things work? should i pay for her? etc

Just curious: Do you guys think an Asian who focuses specifically on and excels in a sport is a hook in the Princeton admissions process?

@ismoonlife No don’t offer. If you arrive 1st and want something, just get it and sit down. If the interviewer is already there they may already have a drink and they may offer you the opportunity to get something before you start, or they may be waiting for you and then offer to get something for both of you and it is perfectly fine to accept. It is an adult, and a Princeton grad and they certainly won’t be put out by purchasing a coffee for you, so don’t feel awkward about it. The interviewer sets the venue and would never expect you to offer to pay for them.

@ispmoonlife yeah I agree with planner03, don’t offer. The interview is just a comfortable venue for the interviewee, you don’t need to worry about getting them anything. Usually, I’ve heard that the interviewer just bought an item for themselves and the interviewer. It’s just a way to loosen you up and make you feel comfortable. An interview can only help you. Good luck!

@Vbdunk I honestly couldn’t tell you. I’m actually clueless to what a hook is in the first place lol

@Vbdunk Elite athletic performance can significantly strengthen an application, but I don’t think it would count as a “hook” unless you were to be recruited by Princeton.

For those people who got interviews, how were you contacted? Have not heard from them at all. Can’t believe my app would be that bad to not even be considered for an interview (SAT 2280 / GPA 4.4 / Vars football / drummer / trombone / piano etc…) but who knows. Phone call? E-mail?

@doublediamond Relax! You are offered an interview if there is an alum in your area available to do it. Getting or not getting an interview is indicative of nothing else!
