@Ambitious19 Hahaha do the interviewers ever read our applications?

They don’t.

same bro

For those of you who have already submitted your applications already (btw congrats), could you please inform us procrastinators what the PU application tracking system is like? Specifically, are there any requirements for the arts supplements (resume, repertoire, teacher recs)? Also are you able to see if Pton has already received your test scores/transcripts? Thanks

@HPClee same here I read my book after I found the quote tho

Well, regardless, I think you should read the book! You don’t want to misinterpret the quote or something!

You mean this one?
<a href=“Princeton 2019 SCEA Hopefuls Thread - Princeton University - College Confidential Forums”>Princeton 2019 SCEA Hopefuls Thread - Princeton University - College Confidential Forums;

So I’ve been searching for this page, yet all Google keeps on giving me is Harvard’s thread…so I decided to create one for us. Is anyone applying scea? Does it give us an added advantage? What are your stats? So scared here…

I just completed everything(yay) and the tracking system only tracks required items. Arts supplements aren’t tracked through the system at all.

Go you @Ackattack11 that’s awesome!
Wait I’m confused then how are supposed to submit art supps?

Wait, can we submit more than two recommendations? I have three teachers writing for me, and my non-core rec was already submitted and filled up the two allotted spaces. Help?

@graceunderfire From what I know, you can ONLY submit 2 teacher recommendations, but you can submit an additional recommendation from a non-academic supervisor.

@graceunderfire if you’re on common app, then you can delete the non-core rec and politely explain to that teacher about the circumstances. if you still want him/her to submit the rec, you can consider snail mailing it to princeton. pretty sure they accept recs that way too

@Ambitious19 @justlyfe8 – Thank you both!

I sent my SAT Subject tests and ACT score this week. I was planning on sending my SAT score which comes out on Oct 28 if I did well, but I don’t have to send that right?

Also, does Princeton schedule an interview after they receive everything? even the recommendations?

Does anyone know if Princeton has a “soft-deadline” of October 15th for SCEA applicants?? I know Harvard recommends submitting early applications by October 15th, but I’m not sure if this is the case for Princeton. If we haven’t submitted our applications yet, will we be at a disadvantage? Sorry for being so paranoid!!

and @HPClee thankfully Princeton allows us to use the score-choice option (unlike yale penn and georgetown), so you don’t have to send in your SAT score if you did poorly.

Princeton allows for score choice so no you don’t have to send the Oct 28 results. Your interview for Princeton will be scheduled some time after they receive your application provided that there is an interviewer available for the area in which you reside. I am not sure if they need to receive the recommendation letters before they schedule interviews - likely not since the interviewer does not have access to that information, or your application as a whole.

@graceunderfire You can even email the additional recommendation to uaoffice@princeton.edu

@ambitious19 When I visited Princeton over the summer, the admissions counselor said that October 15th was the “preferred” deadline. I submitted mine then, but last week, my GC got an email from Princeton’s admissions basically saying that they don’t read the applications before November 1 anyway… so I’m not exactly sure what to make of it. I wouldn’t worry about anything, though. It could just be a “help us help you by getting your app in early” thing, though Princeton doesn’t seem to work that way.

@oneappatatime Thank you so much for the clarification! I’m super close to submitting my app; I definitely don’t want to wait right before the deadline to submit. Also, should we send in SAT/AP scores before we send in our application or after? I was thinking of waiting after I submit because then they’ll actually have a file for me and won’t misplace my scores or something.
