Princeton 2019 SCEA Hopefuls Thread

@Ambitious19‌ I got the confirmation email first, and then they sent me an email with the App tracker link after a few hours. Don’t worry!

@HPClee okay whew thanks! I was afraid that my application wasn’t processed correctly because when I entered my email and PIN code right after I received the confirmation email, the system rejected my attempts at registering! I guess I’ll just have to wait a couple of hours.

DD can’t remember getting or setting a user and PIN, I told her I would check with the kind folks at CC. We did the “forgot user/password” link but have not received an email back with instructions. We’re thinking the system could be bogged down. Anyone with advice or similar situation?

@ambitious19
Did you get your email with the app tracker successfully ?

Hello everyone!
I have a quick question. One of my teachers still hasn’t submitted the letter of recommendation, but she says it’s okay because teacher recommendations aren’t due on November 1st. Is this true? My parents are really angry about this :frowning:
Thanks!

I have not started writing my supplement essay. Help omg someone please tell me they’re on the same boat.

@binatang Yes, I received the email last night at 9 PM PST and successfully logged into App Tracker!

@SpaceCoastMom have you received the confirmation email yet? Or the AppTracker link email? once you click the link, you will be able to register for your App Tracker account and create your own username and password. Also, each applicant enters their desired PIN code into one of the question sections of the Princeton-specific section of CommonApp.

If you go back to the Princeton section of “My Colleges” and click on “Questions,” which is right above “Recommenders and FERPA” there is a question that says “Please choose a four-digit PIN.” Your daughter’s PIN code should be there because she is the one who chose the PIN code.

Good luck!

We don’t have to send our AP Score report now right? We send it only if we get accepted?

^^ Right. You only self-report your AP scores.

@mayee107 Don’t worry! Princeton is super flexible with recs and SAT score reports (I called the office); they know it’s not your fault that teachers haven’t sent in their recs yet.

Hey all, I submitted my app yesterday and still have not received confirmation from the Princeton tracking system yet… how long does it usually take?

@ByLaissezFaire‌ You should wait at least a day

Hi guys I’m applying to Princeton EA! I’m a bit late but I spent the past few weeks working on essays, ugh :(.

2400 SAT (800 CR, 800 M, 800 W)
Math II 800, Physics 800, Literature 800, Spanish w/ listening 800, Chinese w/ listening 800, French w/ listening 800 (Not sure which two to send though)

UW: 4.05 (Got > 100%s in AP Lit and Princeton MAT385 Probability Theory - professor was chill af)
W: 4.83? Idk how Princeton courses are weighted. If they’re weighted as normal courses then my gpa goes down sooooo much. I finished all the AP courses that my school had to offer so I had to take princeton courses.

4 years varsity Cross Country, Wrestling, and Baseball. Captain of all three. Placed top 10 at Foot Locker Nationals sophomore year for the 800 m.
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
President of MUN, NHS, Science Olympiad
Wrote 2 papers about lorentz transformations in hyperbolic time dilation with student from MIT

Teacher recs: Princeton math professor loved me (10/10). Princeton physics professor was eh, I think he purposely trolls me (7/10)

Common Essay: 10/10 I wrote about my startup.

I got to a competitive school in New Jersey.

Does anyone know if the Arts Supplement requires a recommendation letter from your arts teacher? My violin teacher is EXTREMELY slow and if I ask him now he will definitely not get it in by November 5. From what I’ve seen it doesn’t but if anyone’s actually gotten onto the 2019 app could they let me know?

Also I have no extracurriculars compared to everyone else on this thread, but that’s what I get for having depression  I have unique/decent extracurriculars compared to past and present kids from my school so I guess that counts for something.

Shoot…I sent 4 SAT subject test scores to Princeton :frowning:

@hopefulperson‌ the recommendation letter is optional.

@alliekinz thank you! I think Princeton takes all your scores into account and considers the strongest two.

@hopefulperson‌ whew  thanks! best of luck to everyone. time to wait, I suppose.

Yes good luck to everyone!! Does anyone know when Princeton is releasing decisions?? All the ivies are releasing them on different dates so I’m not quite sure.
