<p>Just got in the major I want in Princeton, but I am not going because my mom won't let me live in New Jersey alone..... LOL.</p>
<p>Anyways, I like warm bay area much over snowy east (just an opinion).</p>
<p>i also came to berkeley rejecting princeton (i only got accepted to princeton and berkeley, rejected everywhere else… lol). $ was the reason, as always. meh. just do your best here at Cal and doors will still open, enjoy college and our beautiful cali weather 
i really love it here in berkeley and don’t regret my personal decision. </p>
<p>i hope you don’t feel bitter about your situation (sounds parent-forced… again, sorry to hear) just live it up and don’t take it for granted that you’re at a great university either way. best of luck buddy.</p>

It was a bit parent forced (rejects the offer from Northwestern, NYU, Princeton, WUSTL), but I like Cal a lot myself, too.</p>
<p>What’s wrong with New Jersey other than a crap basketball team? According to HIMYM, everyone there is really nice. 
Besides, I don’t think Cal campus is any better. Bunch of hobos and annoying kids sitting street side harassing people for money = no going on Telegraph unless I really need to.</p>
<p>I fully support you! I came to Berkeley over Princeton out of completely free will and disregarding the monetary benefits for Berkeley. You don’t sound too shaken up about not going to Princeton, meaning you don’t really care what college you’re going to (which is bad ofc.) or you like Berkeley just as much or more than Princeton (which is good!).</p>

For someone who brags about picking Berkeley over Princeton, I’d seriously question whether or not he actually did get in. All the smart Berkeley people I’ve met that have chosen it over more prestigious privates tend to be very humble. After all, they chose Berkeley over prestige, and it would be strange to brag about not going to a extremely prestigious school when instead you could attend it.</p>

<p>Yeah, most people who get into ivies, stanford, mit but choose to go to Berkeley don’t brag about it. They are smarter than that and realize that Berkeley is the place for them. I know that I wouldn’t have been able to fit in with the type of people that go to the ivies and the environment/bubble that the school is in.</p>
