Better to focus on the departments, ecs, campus life, even Reunions and the alumni network, in order not to look like all you care about is getting good grades easily. No worries if you already did, just some advice for the future.

^ I agree.

I’m a deferred early applicant, so I had my interview a long time ago, but we mostly just had an informal discussion about the departments and student life. That’s how all my interviews have been like so far.

Yes, I asked about it but it wasn’t the main theme in our conversation. And my interviewer seemed like he gets that question quite often, so the advice above is really helpful.

Anyone know if Princeton does likely letters/calls for RD applicants? If so, is it for STEM kids or just athletes? I know Yale has like letters for STEM kids so I was just wondering if Princeton had a similar system

I have my interview in a week and my interviewer wasn’t an undergraduate at Princeton; he did his masters. Can I still ask him questions regarding student life, undergrad research etc. about which I do want to learn more?

Yes, he will still have insight on those topics even if he wasnt an undergrad

This is so late but I applied! I actually had my interview earlier today. It went really well in my opinion. Probably the best out of all of my interviews. Even though it doesn’t mean anything, I can’t help but be happy. I can’t wait for Ivy Day now!

My interviewer kept referring to Princeton as a cult… I don’t know whether that’s good or bad

^ The interviewer only meant there is a very specific and defined culture.

Hi all!! Good luck to those who have their interviews coming up, mine is tomorrow!

Did a quick google on my interviewer and if I’ve got the right person it appears that she’s a director of some dept at Harvard Law?? Is this plausible for someone who works at one school to interview for another? The YOG for Princeton on her bio matches up with the info she gave me.

Anyone else interviewing in the MA area? How was your interview?

The fact that she works at Harvard in no way impedes her ability to serve Princeton. It’s not as if she works at Harvard undergrad admissions or FinAid… That’d be the only possible conflict.

I had my interview today (central MA). My interviewer graduated in 1948 (!!!) and served in World War II. It was around a two hour interview and I thought it went pretty well!

Does Princeton send out online account information? I didn’t get anything besides a confirmation that they got my application.

What essay option did y’all choose?

I did the significant person prompt.

@SpoolMan - you should receive an email with log in information to track your application in the next week or two as well as an email with log in information to view the admission decision closer to the decision date in March.

Thanks @Cantiger! Is this info on the website or was it written in an email? Just wondering if I missed anything…

I am not sure if it is on the website, but it is definitely written in the confirmation e-mail.

Ok thanks! I’ll look through my emails again.

I had my Princeton interview too.It was a very relaxed conversation.Me and my interview had quite a laugh about basketball. XD is that a good sign?
