Princeton ED Lounge

What exactly is dual enrollment?

I have school from 8:15 until 2:40 tomorrow, then work until 5:30.

what kind of work do you do?

i only take 3 classes at my high school, and then 5 at stony brook university

so i go to my HS from 9:30-11:30 every day,

and then on mondays and wednesdays i go from 12:50-9:40 at stony brook!!

but on tuesdays, thursdays, fridays = free. ahh. love life.

i go to school 8-2 every monday-friday. fun stuff....5 classes...yay

so M and W are basically 9:30-9:40? brutal....I guess it's worth it for the breaks, though. I go from 8-12:50 everday except Thurs.--and then I get out at 2:50.

How are you doing 3 HS + 5 college classes simultaneously? If the college courses are the usual amount of hours, then you'd be taking 17-19 hours plus HS classes....crazy...my mere 16 hr college load is seen as a pretty full one. Are you actually taking all 5 classes this semester?

Hope it's okay for a parent to crash this thread...(adults hate the sound of you all going silent when they walk in the room, btw)

Have any of you ED applicants been contacted for an interview yet?

Dizzymom

Dizzymom - lol. you sound like my mom.
"adults hate the sound of you all going silent when they walk in the room"

Quite a few of us have received notices about interviews, but, being eager as we are(!) we have already dedicated an entire thread to that... See Princeton Interviews a bit further down the Princeton Page.

gianevve --

thank you for helping a little old lady across the street! I'll check that one out -- until today I've never looked specifically at the Princeton section alone.

I think, other than the odd psychopathic harridan, moms are fairly generic -- we're all more or less alike, crazy in love with our kids who are -- rightly -- moving on to new and more significant relationships in their lives. This college launch is symbolic, perhaps for many of us -- last chance to be part of your lives in a meaningful way...

Dizzymom

Well, Dizzymom - it's a pleasure to help out where I can. Wishing your S/D the best of luck from all of us here on the Princeton Boards!

whooo amen :-D

gianievve --

Thank you, and how kind of you! I checked the thread and in retrospect, realized I actually had accessed it previously. A friend of mine knew Mr. Haragon personally, so when I looked at that pdf file I replied that I thought it might be out of date since I had heard Haragon had retired.

My son is being recruited as an athlete and has told both Y and H that he applied ED to P. Nerve-wracking. S does not frequent this website and thinks I am (as usual) overbearing in my diligence in finding it and staying informed. S does not appreciate my 'helpful suggestions' to him as regards interview preparation, attire, etc. It must be time for him to go off to college, so I hope P says yes :-)

Sigh. I think my 'job security' as a mom is threatened. Anyone here want to be adopted?

Dizzymom

lol - I wouldn't mind! Here, it's the exact opposite with my mom and I - while I rant about how great this forum is, and she thinks I'm crazy to find it so useful. Hmm, I think the interview attire is a teenage thing - I absolutely abhorred my mom's suggestions on what to wear, but I'm still alive :) It must've been tough choices for The Athlete - but it'll all turn out well in the end. Just keep smiling, good times ahead!

I'll resurrect the lounge again...we seem to turn everything else into a lounge, and 1 big lounge is beg than five.

check out the latest no of post .Princeton is almost 2000 post ahead of Yale at 4553
while poor ,poor brown is still in the 200's

aww! but I really do think about it...what if I have to relocate? shudder

"while poor ,poor brown is still in the 200's"
rofl - how :o (embarassing)

But I like Brown.

Zant - Who's relocating?

Hey I love brown too.Better than Yale ,Upenn and columbia anyway

I'd have to say that Yale is 2nd best =)

I've got homewoork, so I'm off....also have to 'invent' a 30 min. lecture for an art show in a week...

so if I get back on, kick me off. =)

Check the posts at the beginning of this thread....when that amount of time has passed again, we'll know which ones will be Tiger classmates...that's a little unnerving to think about.

(You don't have to "kick me off"--I'm only getting on for a second, wink.)
