Princeton ED Lounge

That and it's just...different. Some people's feelings have changed toward CC and the university and a lot of people simply don't come any more. So yeah, it'll probably never be as close-knit as before. Still doesn't mean it can't be fun though :)

¡Viva CC!

Correction: ¡Viva Princeton! ;)

Correction #2: ¡Viva Princeton CC!

heh

ah, c'est parfait.

Cookiemom's still here! I miss you guys!

see! by ressurecting the lounge, all the old regulars begin to meander on back...warm and fuzzy feelings

I had (and still do to a lesser extent) a part in a real comraderie on the Yale board. Posters like Chidimma, Lindselujh, davidrune, iplayobe, ivyboy05, and other all made up a great community.

But Princeton still looms on the horizon as a chance that fulfill my dreams. If I could say today that I would take a Princeton acceptance (except for the $$$ issue), I would not turn it down, even for a 14% shot at Yale.

And so, I will ask to join you, whether you simply wait to move to New Jersy next year or hope and pray that you will be given the opportunity. Regardless of my end destination, I am certain that you all can help me on the journey.

With hope for the future,
Nickleby

Yale was a tightly-knit community...but I don't know if it was as much so as Princeton. I mean, when I think of all the late nights I was on this forum or in a chatroom...gah, I want those days back! However, come April, we're going to have a massive chat trying to convince many of those who got accepted to actually go to Princeton...especially the old ED regulars.

We can still be a happy family, though. Not problem-less, but happy nonetheless :) Good luck, Nickleby!

I don't know if Princeton of Yale was more close. They were both farily good. However, there were no others even close (especially not Harvard). On december 15th and the weeks leading up, we had a YALE EA chatroom on AIM.

I just have to make transitions. Once these apps are done, I'll have more time to spend on CC.

It's unlikely that this board will be as active as before during the next few months. Before the waiting period was short and everyone was still doing college apps. And in addition, everyone who applied ED was coming to this board to hang out and wait. However, after January 1, things will be different. Ah well, if I learned one thing from Lord of the Rings (i just finished the ROTK EE dvd today) it's that change is inevitable.

Oh yeah, and Harvard is just plain cutthroat. No one goes there because they love the school, unlike Yale or Princeton. At Harvard, its all about the reputation.

Where's zante?

She hasn't been around in a while.

Hey, cookiemom! We miss you, too.

hehe, i jumped ship from the harvard board and was a regular at the princeton forum....cause princeton (and their peeps) are just cool like that :)

but yah....i miss the old princeton ED crew....:(

Yep....yep.

I'll say this though: Yale has us beat by a mile in terms of camaraderie among its accepted students (their LJ community is huge and very active; they have weekly chats and everything...) and among its deferred applicants (and a mixture of both). I've only talked to a few people who've been accepted, and only sparingly. And the same for people who were deferred. And I've certainly not talked to any brand-new applicants (except every once in a while on CC). Heck, even Harvard's doing better than Princeton (outside of CC, of course). It's weird...

So yeah, that's a long way of saying I agree slimlic. But I hate talking about ustacould's, so I'll stop...for now, haha. I feel like those old cronies sitting on a porch, stroking their white beards and rocking in their rocking chairs talking about how things were so much better back in The Day. lol.

I miss everyone....I want them to come back.... :(

WOOO HOOOOO! YAY TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO GOT ACCEPTED!!!!! WHOOO HOOOOO! RELIVING THE SPIRIT! WHOOOO HOOOO!

i hate depressing threads.... so let's talk about something fun... like apple pie.

I could use some apple pie right about now...
That's some tasty stuff right there.

I'd say that our xanga community is pretty active....not with ALL of the ED group, of course, but with a lot of the regulars. The funny thing is, it's not just the accepted Princeton students---many are deferrees cough. So I guess that means the camaraderie was even stronger, lol. ;)
Perhaps our group hasn't been as strong because such a huge percentage of the people were deferred and are feverishly finishing other apps...looks over shoulder at a pile of unsent apps and groans
Catch you all later!

(And cheer up, Philip!) :)
