So, I've been really lazy about applying for financial aid. I haven't even completed the PFAA for Princeton, because I thought the CSS was enough. About one week ago, I got an email from Princeton stating that they hadn't received my PFAA. I ignored the letter. Then today, I got another email from Princeton and an actual letter (dated March 25) from Princeton asking for my PFAA.

I'm filling it out right now.

Anyone who is equally lazy, receive the same notifications?

yup....i figure ill wait 4 more days to see if i get in before filling it out

I haven't filled it out either, but they didn't tell me anything about it. No, P-ton for me. Oh well...I'm beyond caring about it anymore, this whole process has desensitized me.

Don't be lazy with forms like this. Filling out the form can be a pain, but the thousands in free grants it can net you is the payoff.

Well actually I wasn't being lazy with it, it's just that I never even knew such a form (PFAA??) existed until they just posted about it right now, and seeing as to how they haven't sent me anything about it at this point in the game, I'm guessing there really is no point to fill it out.

if you're contacted this late, you're definitely in.

has anyone been contacted for anything else besides the PFAA? like tax returns and etc?

I had done the CSS Profile for Yale, but my dad was tired of paying the processing fee, so we just submitted the PFAA, and that was all I needed. I don't think it will affect my financial aid award if I get in...

Are you sure that's a hard and fast rule? It seems a little suspect to me... (Although I do think David will get in ;))

to my knowledge the finaid office operates completely seperate from the admissions office

Not completely separate. Once a student has been admitted, the finaid office is notified so that his/her aid package can be worked out. If Princeton are so keen on getting david's PFAA, there's a 90% chance he's in. I didn't submit the tax returns myself, and have had no communication about it so far. If it was standard practice, they'd have asked me to submit it too.

I was asked to send in something for FA also and the letter was dated march 21st....do you think this is a good sign mercurysquad???

^I'm not mercurysquad, but I really do think that it's a good sign.

Lucky you.

I received the generic PFAA letter too, but I was such a freak I immediately filled it out and sent it.
