Hi, i was wondering if anyone could explain to me how Princeton decides who to interview. I know a few people who applied to Princeton that did not receive an interview offer, whereas others who applied did. If all students don't receive the chance to have an interview, is that really fair in the admissions process? Thanks

As a Princeton alum interviewer, I can say that Princeton does its best to give an interview to every applicant. Recognize, however, that although the alumni network is large, there may be some areas that just don't have enough alums available to conduct all interviews. Or, there just may be no way to make the scheduling of an interview work, in very rare cases. Princeton does NOT hold the lack of an interview against the applicant if it is the result of lack of availability.

Should an applicant not be contacted for an interview by mid January, he/she should contact Princeton to request assistance if they really want an interview.
