any1 taken the princeton review course find it helpful? and if u dun mind give ur SAT score before and after u've finished the course. much thx

I took the class and before it I had around a 2070. After the course I also had a 2070. But self-study with the Barrons books helped me significantly. The Barrons Series got my score up up to around 2260( I haven't taken the real SAT yet, but I averaged around 2260 in the blue book). So, overall, the course is too expensive and doesn't always guarantee the "200 points."

meh i'll be happy to get a 2000 *sadface

Personally, I think if you're scoring 2100 or lower on SAT practice tests, the course might help you. If you are scoring 2200+ or in the high 2100s, then the course would not help you significantly.

I took the course last summer and honestly I think PR didn't teach me anything about SAT that I didn't already know before. In fact, I even found most of PR's methods to be less efficient (for example, all of PR's math tips).

However, my friend who also took the course (he had been scoring in the 1900's -- 2000's) improved 150 points, so I guess it's beneficial in that regard. Judging from your comments above, it may be advantageous for you to take the course.

I am scoring in the 1500-1600. With the PR course I am taking right now, can I get it up to 1800 by May?

i scored 510v - 580m, hoping to get 650 - 650 by end of the course...lol

Good luck sanded.85. I scored a 400v and 720m, hoping to get 550v and 750m by the end of the course.

maybe im expecting too much haha

This is so messed up. I studied the first 20 words in their workbook for a week now. I just realized that there were mistakes, and the definitions on the other side of the flashcard was all messed up. Now I have to erase what I studied... OMG!. And sanded.85, did you get a workbook from SAT? Is it "Beat the SAT*" Version 3.0? Thats the book I have, with the greyish flashcards in the back.

no, we got a "Manual for new SAT" and yeh it got flashcards in the back too, havent even glanced at them yet.

I took the PR class before I took the SAT. I got a 1730 on the first PR practice test and only went up 10 points on the actual SAT in October. I took the SAT again in December and got an 1820. I don't think the class was that helpful. In my opinion, the PR practice tests are different from the actual SAT. Now PR owes me a free refresher, so we'll see what happens.

Dani747, did you spend atleast 3 hours a week doing thier assignments? Did you look up words you didn't understand? I'm thinking that you just sat in a classroom hoping it'll increase your score. That is exactly what I did for the PSAT course and my score increased 20 points.

I can honestly say that I did their assignments. As I took their practice tests, my scores consistently went up. It was on the real SAT that my scores didn't.

u guys are friggin geniuses, i only got 1490 on their practice test. so according to u guys, im gonna get like 1600 at most??!!! *cry face

sanded.85, was the 1490 m/v/w? cuz I got a 1690 m/v/w.

yeh, v580, m510, w400....hahah im so ****ed
