Oh ok thank you @pnguon
I wrote Princeton an email to update them on my accomplishments and to re-affirm my desire of going there in February, will this have any effect (even if minimal)?
@RoadtotheIvies98 It may help a bit, but I can’t really tell if it’ll have too big of an impact. Princeton has 27,000+ applications RD every year, so there are so many qualified people. I guess the good thing about a letter of interest is that it may set you apart from the rest of the crowd.
Did Princeton reply back to your email?
@azwu331 Yeh they replied with a “thank you, we will add this to your file”
@RoadtotheIvies98 That’s good then. The worst case scenario is that the update does absolutely nothing, but looking through previous LOCI acceptances on CC, an update certainly does have the capability to push a deferee to acceptance. It isn’t a guarantee though. Good luck!
@azwu331 Thanks for the encouragement, Ivy Day can’t come soon enough!!
I believe we are nearing the time where we will finally find out if we are accepted to Princeton! I’m surprised that I never commented on this thread before because I suggested making this thread, but I just wanted to say good luck to everyone. Princeton is my number one school and I am hoping for the best! ~:>
@dolph1n Thank you and good luck to you as well! ~:>
About half a month left! Good luck to all of you guys!
I’ve calculated using stats from other schools and a few leaks of information that the deferral acceptance rate is probably around 2-3%. It’s not much, but by statistical standards, 1 or 2 people on this thread will probably make it in on the 31st. My best advice is to keep expectations low and hope for the best; that way, a rejection will not hit too hard.
UChicago decisions tomorrow… so tense! ~:>
“2-3%”
Damn - that’s so much lower than normal RD. :S
Also, good luck with UChicago @azwu331!
@Anonymoose3 Thanks!
EDIT: Never mind, I had the wrong data for the wrong school in Post #48… the deferral rate is actually around 7-8%. Sorry about that…
Good luck everyone! ~:>
I was going to say. Deferral rates are always higher than regular RD acceptance rates.
I forget who it was, but somebody said 1% of UChicago deferred are accepted, and that’s just not right.
Wow these statistics are helpful but they’re making me even more nervous. RD acceptance rate last year was around 8% so 7-8% is a little lower.
I heard that the Ivy League schools are releasing admission decisions on March 31st at 5pm EST can anyone confirm? I heard this on the Harvard thread but I prefer Princeton ~:>
It is confirmed, @dolph1n.
At least this awfully long wait will be over soon, right?
I was rejected from Northwestern. At this point, I’m pretty worried
I’m sorry, @randomsguy
But every college looks for different things! Plus Northwestern’s RD acceptance rate hovers around 5% (I heard). Don’t give up hope!
@Anonymoose3 true
the good news is I have options because I was accepted to WashU and Boston College but they’re nowhere near Princeton
What schools have you and everyone else hear gotten into? I want to be optimistic about Princeton but backups are needed at least to mentally get through this month
@dolph1n - MIT, Columbia, Cornell, and Northwestern. I’m still holding out for Princeton, though. :S
Anyone get any suspicious Princeton financial aid emails lately?
