@amb815 Really? What did it say?
@amb815 Did you apply SCEA? And did you just get the letter today?
@amb815 - and if you got it today (Sunday) - should we assume that means it was an email not a letter?
has anyone else in this forum gotten a likely letter?
I certainly haven’t…
lol same ^^ i didn’t even think ivies sent out likely for non athlete early applicants hmm…
I would not be surprised if this was a false post.
@PollyC very much agreed!
@PollyC @server456 that’s kind of what I was thinking.
You guys should see University of Pennsylvania’s class of 2020 applicants thread.
@toffys Wow, impressive. It’d be great to get the community up like that, but I don’t have the time to deal with that right now… CC already occupies far more of my time than I’d like it to. Decision weekend virtual party, maybe? Gotta get that pagecount up.
Hey guys! I’ll be resuming school again tomorrow, so I’ll have an opportunity to contact my counselor regarding a major piece of information. I don’t know if you guys have already seen this already, but here is an excerpt from the Early Action FAQ on the Princeton website here: https://admission.princeton.edu/applyingforadmission/early-action-faqs
My quarter grades are already out, and I am pretty pleased with them. Should I contact my counselor and tell her to send my quarter grades, or should I just wait it out? I know that Princeton may have already decided already, and from looking at older threads, Princeton often asks for the quarter grades from the counselor instead of the other way around. Also, have any of you guys sent your quarter grades to Princeton?
Any feedback would be great!
I got a legacy letter thing but not a likely letter… would the legacy letter be an indication of rejection/deferral?
@VanillaBean22 What did the letter say?
EDIT: I’ve looked through several old CC threads regarding legacy letters. They are often sent to all students who are legacies and have no indication of whether or not a student will be admitted or rejected. Don’t worry, Princeton won’t take the time to send an “unlikely letter” to an applicant; that would be completely absurd. Hopefully this information helps!
@azwu331 I asked my counselor to send in my first quarter grades. They were released about two weeks after I applied, so they were sent in separate. I’ve also heard Princeton and peer institutions often call the counselor directly if they need them, but I’d just go ahead and send them anyway even now. It certainly can’t hurt anything
@azwu331 Thanks! I was getting rlly worried about it… i got some bad input from someone about the “tone of the letter” which now that i look back was pretty absurd haha xD
@asappebble Ah, thank you! I will get to that tomorrow.
@meaa7130 We have lives. I think most people applying to Ivies have lives, including Penn and Princeton applicants. We’re all strongly qualified applicants with great ECs and lives. We talk a lot on the thread simply because it helps with stress and it’s enjoyable to talk to perhaps your future classmates. I apologize for our immature behaviors earlier but please don’t try to assert that we don’t have lives outside of cc
@VanillaBean22 If you look back at Janet Rapelye’s comments about legacy (which are very MIT-esque) and what people say about her treatment of legacy, her letter seemed pretty generous.
@azwu331 Hi! I am also applying for engineering (chemical) SCEA this year to Princeton I read through this whole thread in the past hour and wow you seem like an amazing person! If I actually met you in person, I would honestly want to be friends with you instantly xD I really wanted to wish you good luck for December!
