@MariaScott why didnt you ask me how i spent my summer?? :’(
@ivyleaguer69 ^^ I think we can unequivocally say that no one has any clue what it means! (read thru many many comments above on this thread a few days ago…)
Just make sure you get your parent’s tax documents filed ASAP if you haven’t done so already
Yep… Pretty sure there’s no meaning to anything except the admission decision (whenever that may come…) all we can do is out our energy into being happy and productive until it does!
Would anyone like to call? I know for the Harvard people they said they didn’t receive an email, but they called and confirmed.
Someone should. What if they come out the 10th!
Only in our dreams ^^
Thats whats happening with Harvard, and they havent sent out an email
if someone posts the number to call here i will do it
I’ve been lurking on this thread for quite some time. I’m an AB applicant (specified neuroscience) and I was just wondering how many URMs are also applying? I am African American and was wondering if there were others lurking in the thread.
@APrincetonian Same, an African American here too!
@APrincetonian, parent of a URM too. My son’s Hispanic - Puerto Rican.
I’ll call tomorrow. I can’t take not knowing the date of my impending doom
I went on the Daily Princetonian website a few minutes ago to search for any hints on the decision release date, but instead I found this cartoon on the front page. I know that this has to do with the recent events that have been going on at the school, but I feel that this image also applies to wonderful this CC community as well (especially as we wait for our decisions): http://dailyprincetonian.com/opinion/2015/12/cartoon-were-all-in-this-together/
Good luck!
Continuing in the vein of ridiculous coincidences that we search for nonexistent meaning in, has anyone else noticed how Princeton Admissions tweeted every day from 11/30-12/5, but hasn’t tweeted anything for the past two days?
Also, just as a sidenote… is it just me, or does this thread lack a post #585 for some reason? All I know is that a comment got deleted and now the whole thread numbering is messed up. I know that this is post #713, but the thread is glitching and telling me that this is actually post #714… I guess this is just some sort of CC bug or something.
(Nevermind. I figured out that the “comparative memes” post got deleted. Either that or I can’t see it. Is anyone else having the same problem?)
Just as an update though, the survey on post #577 (now #576) has gone surprising well. The actual numbers are 72.93% for AB and 27.07% for BSE… and look at the current standing of the CC poll:
of AB applicants: 27/37 = 0.7297 = 72.97%
of BSE applicants: 10/37 = 0.2703 = 27.03%
This result is absolutely astonishing (error of only ±0.0004 when compared to actual results). I guess that the 73/27 split between AB/BSE is actually pretty accurate even for SCEA, despite the fact that Princeton never releases this information. I guess I learned something new through this exploration!
I’m going to wait for more results to come in, but in the meantime, I think this data is sufficient enough to make an admissions prediction regarding AB and BSE acceptance rates with a small margin of error the day before decision release. Good job guys!
I’m a URM too! Specifically Hispanic (Mexican) and I’m applying AB Economics/Woodrow Wilson (although the name might be changed)
I posted on this thread a while ago with my stats and have been following up but I would just like to thank everyone who posted about the financial aid email because I was freaking out. I already submitted all my financial aid documents and still received the email. On the application tracker online it said that I had submitted everything but I sent in the 2014 financial aid documents anyway just be safe.
I’m super nervous to find out if I get in and I wish the best of luck to everyone here on CC!
@APrincetonian, I am the parent of a URM. My daughter’s African American.
Hi everyone. I applied SCEA on Nov. 1 and on Nov. 8 was notified by my school that I am the school’s nomination for the Jefferson Scholar Program at UVA. This wasn’t mentioned in my Princeton application but does go to my rank (my school won’t rank students). How can I get this information now to the Princeton admission committee? And should I indicate (true) that if accepted at Princeton, I will turn down the Jefferson Scholarship? Also I applied for BSE engineering but after reading the comments here think I should have applied for AB. I indicated both interests in the application (major in engineering, AB in politics or international affairs. Should I write and tell them I am happy with either? If so, what email should I use and what do you think I should say? (some PPs gave email addresses for the admissions office)
I think it’s pretty late in the process to be supplementing your app. - esp when you could have done so way back on 11/9.
if you don’t get accepted SCEA, then file supplement for RD round
regarding BSE/AB - i really don’t think it matters at all
just my opinion
