@collegebound1915 doubt it but how awesome would it be if it was revealed tomorrow morning lol
@collegebound1915 that would be ideal. But then again, all of us getting in would be ideal. And that’s not gonna happen
Knowing that Princeton had a 10% increase in early applicants this year fills my heart with both pride and terror lol
@meaa7130 @rangerstown I guess you never know right? Princeton definitely seems to be doing things differently this year (no email, weird portal status changes) - gosh that would be amazing. I just want to know at this point!!
How many here from the west coast? Like this post!
@collegebound1915 all i can say is, u never know
Rounding up to a whole person, Princeton only admitted 7 homeschoolers last year. 0.5%. How’s that for odds?
Is anyone here a girl that is Interested in sciences? I applied biology and wrote my supplement about how I want to be pre med and I was just wondering how many others were here!
@FarscapeFan Why is that? Is it that less apply, or that they have a disadvantage?
@Mel1997 I’m a girl that applied chemical and biological engineering, so somewhat in the sciences
While we are on this topic, does anyone know if being a Caucasian female in engineering is an advantage/hook? I’ve heard that from some people but not sure if it’s true
@collegebound1915 My question too. I’m a female that applied for engineering. I hope there is an advantage, however slight.
I’ve heard that being a woman in STEM overall is a great advantage, although I’m sure within that group there will be different strata based on race, SES, etc.
@meaa7130 @collegebound1915 i’ve heard that female engineers have a very slight advantage because it’s such a male-dominated field, but it’s very minor. i would try not to put too much hope into it!
I forgot to report here the personal response I received the morning after I inquired about that strange portal status change stating I had missing items.
“Not sure what changed in your application portal but I can confirm that all required documents have been received. Your file is complete and there is nothing to resubmit.”
A few hours later the message changed to what appears there now.
@collegebound1915 yes I believe so. Does anyone know if being a Caucasian female interested in premed an advantage?
@meaa7130 in case you want an added data point, I got a confirmation email, but I agree it doesn’t seem to mean much other than a busy office
What about underrepresented states? How much do you think that matters?
@meaa7130 I’m from central/south VA and go to a school with limited resources that has never had an Ivy acceptance. Is this an advantage at all? Lol as you can see I am grasping for absolutely anything.
@collegebound1915 I’m not positive, but I think that any female interested in engineering is probably an advantage.
Do you guys know if there is any advantage to being an Asian female for Economics and/or the arts in the admissions process?
Any female interested in STEM gets a gold star. Being Caucasian does not count as any benefit. Geographic representation is noted. They wouldn’t fill the class with kids from NJ and NY.
