The only rules for SCEA is that you cannot apply to any other private college EA or ED; you can apply RD at any time.

AT2018: you should definitely apply to RD at Vandy by Dec 01 in your case. you’re not violating your P SCEA agreement. Good luck.

For the favorite things portion of the princeton app, did you guys provide short explanations for each answer? I’m applying RD and am wondering what I should do for that section.

@Spool
I just listed phrases because they do not explicitly ask for explanations. Besides, they have to read through four essays/short answers per applicant anyway.

Yeah, I just used descriptive phrases.

What is everyone doing over the next couple of weeks? I’m taking an SAT subject test on Dec. 7, and I’m trying to finish my applications to Washington and Lee and University of Pennsylvania by the 15th. I want to get most of my college stuff done before my deferral letter comes in, because I think that my disappointment will negatively impact the quality of my work.

@Mocean and @1sparkle Thanks for the responses. It helps a lot! I applied SCEA to Yale so I’m (kinda) in the same boat as all of you guys. I’m also going to be trying to work on my RD apps as much as possible in the likely case that I am deferred.

@SpoolMan: Did Yale let you know when decisions will be released? There is still no word from Princeton :(

I think it’ll probably be the 17th. Last year they were released on Tuesday the 18th and since the day of the week usually stays the same I think they’ll pick Tuesday again this year too. The 10th is my only other guess since that’s also a tuesday, but that seems to early.
In the mean time I’m trying to get the apps for my other top choice schools done because of the very real possibility of deferral /:

@KeDIX1414 Yale has said that decisions will be released on Tuesday the 17th this year. Last year they released on Friday the 15th. This may be due to the increased number of applicants or the extended deadline.

Princeton will probably send out a final date sometime in the next week or two. Good luck everyone!

Had my interview a few days ago, went very well!
I’m even more in love with Princeton now.

Good luck to all of us - approximately 2 weeks 'til the moment of truth.

Time is flying by…I thought this wait would take forever, but “the moment of truth” is almost here. Wow… When I toured Princeton during my Sophomore year, December of 2013 felt so far away. Haha, before I know it I will actually be in college!

You had to provide explanations for the short answers in the Princeton supplement? What if the answers were pretty self-explanatory, like favorite word is “so and so”?

I didn’t provide any explanations, personally. They just asked, and I answered.

So I understand that Princeton will send an email when the decisions are out. But will that email contain the decision itself, or will redirect me to the Princeton Application Tracker to find out the answer?

I know this may seem like an unimportant question, but I want to be 100% ready when the big moment comes.

Good luck to everyone !

december 16th at 3. eek.

@Charles,

The email will redirect you to the application tracker. It will not contain your decision.

@flapjacks how do you know it’s the 16th at 3?
