Princeton Stereotypes

This is interesting. I was wondering about this myself since...well...I'm definitely not a fan of self-segregation, and I most certainly don't plan to practice at Princeton. Maybe it'll be different when I see for myself, but I'd like to think it's not like that. But that's society, I guess. sigh

Phil, if I get in, we can socially taboo it together and be friends.... crossing those race boundaries.... tsk tsk ;)

In all seriousness, I was thinking about it the other day... if we all get in, we will be the strangest group of friends ever seen walking around together on campus. We are so diverse not only in ancestry but interests - I wonder if we would have become friends without CC. Yet another one of the merits of CC, bringing us together. cue sappy music

Awww, lisae! Now you have to get in. That just made me all twizzler-y on the inside. And that's where it counts. Go Taboo Crushers! ¡Olé!

I wonder about that sometimes too. I'm glad there are things like CC to bring together people from such diverse backgrounds. Y'know, if they ever need people to do a sappy, dramatic music-filled commercial, our board would so be the one to do it. Haha.

picks up violin starts playing breaks strings cats yowl

breaking news: philntex is not really black.

he made it up. he is really from greenwich, CT and spends his time researching his ancestors who came over on the mayflower.

nice, cap. just...nice, hehe.

Yes, you've called him out - Phil's sister is a member of the D.A.R.... right, Ilcap ;)

Was it Twizzlers pull-and-peel or the stick kind, Phil? And I have a correction to make:

Your description cats yowl should be: the kats yowl Our ears are sensitive!!

I appreciate CC for bringing us together, too - can you imagine that three months ago (in my case, at least) we didn't even know all these people existed?! And now they're a part of our daily existence - I'm closer to some of you than the people at school.

haha! i know.

good call about the kats, hehe. Oh, and pull-and-peel for sure. I mean...there's just no other way.

dons Laura Ingalls apron, grabs American flag, and sings D.A.R. song

Pull-and-peel is amaaazing. Pull off a piece of your Twizzerly insides and toss it over here, please! ;)

Phil, the combination of you singing and you wearing a frilly apron is injuring my sensibilities. Remember the delicate kat ears (not to mention the eyes in this instance), okay?

lol. no, really. I'm laughing out loud right now. Hehe.

tears a pull-and-peel off and throws it to...wherever lisae lives

There is self segregation, but not any more or any different than you've seen in high school.

My own friends are pretty diverse, not that I used AA to choose my friends, that's just how it ended up. I think that this is generally the case unless you make an effort to self-segregate.

hth

And if colleges just let a class "end up" I bet they won't need AA for nothing.

I've wondered about that, too....we are about as different as it comes (esp. a few cases cough ilcapo :)) so I sometimes doubt we'd have ended up "having coffee at Frist"*...Here's to CC! Cheers.
*if we get in, of course

I look forward to that day.

Bokonon's back!
And there was me thinking you'd fallen into a perpetual "lurker" state....

haha. you know it's bad when the Grands Messieurs et Mesdames of CC become lurkers.

Are we really lurkers? Or are we just off somewhere in the dark streets of Paris, having a bit too much of a good time? (You know those French and their m

lol, oh but you did. and it is forever etched into our brain tissue...good times.

good times me saying it or good times... otherwise? raises eyebrow mock-suggestively

oh, i should just let it drop and hope that it sinks deep into your tissue, back where the calculus concepts that you never can seem to remember lurk. ;)

twizzler...isn't there a movie where the main characters have a twizzler thing???? help me here, it's driving me crazy trying to remember now...

Hmm, I can't think of it, either. We'll both go insane trying to remember, because it will itch at me now too!

The best thing about the holidays is that calories don't count, so I think I'll go out and buy some Twizzlers (and eat them all) to jog my memory :)
