Princeton University Class of 2016 SCEA Thread

Oh haha. For some reason college websites hate me, so all I see on that page is that application decisions are no longer available. I don’t know why stuff like this always happens to me lol! But thanks anyways :)

Do they send you an email if you get in/deferred/rejected (like Stanford)?

Ahhh yay that’s 3pm central time! One hour earlier than I thought :)

@#%Q$^@%^@#$!!!
well, its less than 6 days…we can do this! <3

Woooot less than 6 days!

Question: does Princeton only take a certain amount of students from each high school each year?

I know that another girl is applying there from my school and I hope they don’t compare us!

Good question! I don’t think there’s a specific quota or anything, but just considering the acceptance rate I’m thinking it’s not too likely that they’ll take more than a couple from any one school. I know of at least four other kids in my school that are applying and it freaked me out too until i realized i’m the only one that applied early haha.

Ya there’s only two from my school applying early and then 6 applying RD! I hope I can get in SCEA rather than compete with the other 6 for RD. That would make really nervous…

Yeah same here. Good luck! :)

Rejected: Cry
Deferred: Cry
Accepted: Cry so much

All in different ways :)

We have like 15 kids applying early…
6 got in last year’s RD

I don’t think anyone in the history of my school has applied to an Ivy League school. So I’m not up against anyone nearby. In fact, I would be surprised if more than a handful of kids in the whole state applied to Princeton SCEA.

So close now!

Just a question I want to through out there: what other schools were you guys looking at, and why did you pick Princeton over them for EA?

hey people. i, too, applied early to princeton. one other person from my school, one of my best friends (i know, awkward) did early too. what were your essays about? best of luck to everyone! :3

eeeek only 5 days!

I’m the only one from my school applying Early to any Ivy, and only 3 people (including myself) are applying to any Ivies at all in my school. And no one has gone to Princeton from my school in at least the past 10 years, from what I’ve heard. I’m just accepting rejection, honestly. I am the Salutatorian of my class, have loads of extracurriculars, great essays, but it’s still really hard because all of you guys out there are so talented and brilliant. I’ll probably cry no matter the decision, but I’m preparing for the worst, just so I don’t get my hopes up. Best of luck to you all, and I hope all of you are successful in what you pursue, which I’m sure you will be.

My school has 5 applying SCEA and in previous years we have had a few people get in. Last year was 7 and the year before was 10. I think it depends on how much they like the school but of course, if the applicants are not much good they won’t be accepted. Its also really nerve-wracking to know that other top schools are already releasing their admissions decisions.

So am I at an advantage for being at a school where NO ONE goes to (or even applies to) Ivies because of the lack of “relationship” between my high school and Princeton? Or could it help me because my area is so underrepresented?

I know it says Yale and is an hour after, but:

I just realized that I’ll be at work when the admissions decisions come out… NOOOO!!! Do you guys think I should check on my phone? Haha I don’t think I’ll be able to wait!
