I wasn’t able to attend a ‘shmancy’ info session like decillion. Did any one else attend one, and was anything said about early action?

I really hope that the essays are a major factor of the decision. Those were definitely the strongest part of my application.

Lol it wasn’t really shmancy, it was open to the public.

I have 2 questions loll : 1)does going to a catholic school help?
2) My dad went to technical school (2 years) and my mom has a high school diploma; I understand some schools would consider this “first generation to a 4 year college,” as Yale explicitly states those very words on its pamphlets, etc., but does Princeton consider this to be the case?

1) Not necessarily, but it isn’t a mark downward really. Just as long as you have still taken challenging courses relative to your school- you will be fine.

2) Yes. You would be considered first-gen, because neither of your parents graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree.

thanks, I’ll take batting .500 when it comes to Princeton anyday. lol

Umm .500? What is that in reference to?

I went 1 for 2; in baseball terms, I’d be batting .500 no… okay… x_X

Just thought I’d pop by this forum and say good luck! Also, since it’s the most wonderful time of the year again, happy holidays! ; )

I kinda hope decillion doesn’t get in. He talks too much.

@fitz1699. Don’t like wishing bad luck on anyone, so I don’t agree that I don’t want him to get in but he does talk too much, just because you participated in some allegedly prestigious summer program that sends a lot of kids to great schools, you are not any more entitled to an ivy league education. In my opinion it makes the accepted pool pretty bland if 20 arrogant overachievers like Decillion are admitted every year. That being said, I’m sure he is a great applicant and I wish him the best of luck, I just wish he weren’t so cocky.

I just found out that 72 kids applied EA to Princeton from my high school. Basically, I’m freaking out right now.

^^There you go canada89. Stir the pot. Lets get some trash talk up on this thread. You people are waaaaaaaaaaaay too nice.

I’d like to thank decillion for starting this thread.

oh man, what kinda school do you go to?
and let’s not… the guy is just as entitled to a spot as any others, and he’s just pointing out the correlation between his summer program and the attendees’ attended colleges, not saying that they get in because of it. Though it does seem that way because he also says it’s open to the public. but I get the feeling he’s a strong applicant, judging by the confidence he posts with. good luck to all :)

I’d like to thank decilion for cluttering this thread with his self-centered stats and input. Hey I went to summer camp, so I deserve to get into Princeton. Cool story bro. I’ll bet that 85% of kids talking right now have been to summer camps, 40% of which are more prestigious than yours. :)

Yeah I’m with fitz1699 here. I mean I checked out decillion’s stats. Weak ACT score. I beat that with no studying as a standby… maybe instead of playing capture the flag you shoulda hit the books But no personal offense to him here I just want to attempt to be even half as arrogant as he was earlier. “OMG I’ll be sooo upset if I don’t get into the best university in the US”

Meow . . .

^^bro we r so gonna be roomies next year. get@me decillion.

haha yeah we both better get in. where r u from?
