@hypsm you can’t.
Possible Chemical and Biological engineering major. Applied through Quest bridge to Columbia as well.
Did Princeton download anyone else’s Application and Writing Supplement? Mine was just downloaded today.
yeah, they downloaded mine 2 days after I submitted it.
I only have 3 years of a foreign language, would that count against me.
@aLIsUn
I’m no admissions officer, so I really cant offer you much. But I will say that like most things, it depends: i.e. obviously if you won a Nobel Prize it doesn’t matter if you have three years of one language – maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. If, for instance, you are a prospective Linguist and have taken 3 years of French, 3 years of Basque, and 1 year of Russian, then I doubt they would mark you down. In short, I would say this: if you’re going to get in then you will get in.
I talked with a University of Chicago admissions officer and they kind of said the same thing.
hopeful for the Woodrow Wilson School undergrad concentration B-)
them sat scores tho
I guess I’m a little glad I mentioned that I was multilingual already @18YearsASlav
@aLIsUn
I must have missed that. Then you are probably not in to bad a shape, I think they really just want people to be working towards having a command of two languages.
I have taken Spanish up through the Honors level and can understand it fine, but because I don’t fluently speak the language in everyday life, in the languages section I just said that I speak English. Should I have also put Spanish there? Does it hurt my chances at all?
International applicant from China - has anyone received emails about interviews yet? Tbh a little worried about Princeton’s obvious apathy compared to the other schools…
@chunkyglasses same… intended major?
just got my interview
mine too!!! #supernervous
No. for both. Unless one is willing to have his/her admissions interview in the foreign language, I would not suggest listing it as a language in which one is proficient.
I got my interview today as well! Kinda scared
No need to be scared or even nervous. Interviews don’t make or break your chances. You can get negative reports and still be admitted or you can get great reports and get rejected. These interviewers have no significant impact on your admissions chances. Still, don’t go into these interviews in shorts, sandals, torn shirts and trying to impress the interviewer. Just relax, be yourself and enjoy the conversation.
Two MOST important things you should be prepared with, though: 1) know WHY you want to attend Princeton (and PLEASE don’t give this “Princeton is one of the best” crap answer; the interviewer is most likely sick and tired of hearing that line), and 2) have some questions – specific questions – for the interviewer. Nothing worse than responding with “no” when prompted with, “do you have any questions?” at the end of the session.
@tiggerdad Thanks so much! I realized there is no reason to be nervous. I spent two months at Princeton this summer, so I bet I’ll be able to connect from that. My interview is next week.
Good luck!
