Princeton University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

@TiggerDad thanks for the tips. I have a skype interview btw.

I put Comp Lit first, and then French and Italian. I’m somewhere between Linguistics and Comp lit but then Princeton doesn’t have Ling as a major so…

@mlunghi When you said same did you mean you are also applying International from China? Or just the apathy part

im international, but was referring to apathy thing @chunkyglasses

International applicant from Nepal - I submitted my application on the deadline day. So I got the chance to apply finaid 48 hours later. But they have said the deadline to submit finaid app for scea is nov. 1. Can I submit mine now or they will just bin that?

@Nepalitramp you can should submit it before nov.10

@Nepalitramp

Yeah, you have a grace period.

Does anyone know if the email with the info for the portal has a generic email address? I don’t seem to see mine in my inbox and a friend told me it might be in the spam folder. Such a small detail like this is making me stressed!

For people who have already received interviews, how did your interviewer contact you and when did you submit your application? I submitted mine mid-October, and I’m so nervous that I’ll miss a phone call and miss my interview chance!

@kyang0309

Relax. Even if you don’t get the call, it doesn’t have any bearing on you or your chances. Why they haven’t called you could be anything from just late getting to you or there’s no alumni interviewer in your local area or even a nearby city or the interviewer has your info but just too busy with his/her work. When my son was interviewed, they had to get a guy who was in a different city about hour and half drive away, and my son didn’t get the call this soon after the Nov. 1 deadline. It doesn’t matter whether you submitted your application in September or the night before the deadline. It doesn’t work like first come first served. You will get an interviewer and even if not, that doesn’t mean anything in terms of your admissions chances. My son was admitted to 7 colleges and he wasn’t interviewed at 6 of those whether you can believe that or not. So just relax and wait.

This is kind of a response to myself (haha) but the email was deep in my spam folder --> so if you don’t see yours right away, check there too

I haven’t gotten my interview yet and I’m so nervous as to why! 4 other people from my school applied early at Princeton too and they all got their emails already. Could Princeton be interviewing people with an intended BSE major first? Because the other students from my school who applied are doing BSE while I am doing AB…

Depending on where you live, the number of interviewers can vary. Each interviewer responds differently to the request of setting up interviews by Princeton Admissions Office. Some set up interviews in a quick fashion, some don’t, particularly those in extremely busy profession and many are. Most likely it’s not the same person who’s interviewing everyone in the same high school. So be patient.

I just got an email today for my interview:) Mine’s just a phone call. Where else did you guys apply? I applied to Princeton, UVA, UW Madison, Marquette, Emory, William and Mary, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, BostonU, Pepperdine, and USC.

what are your intended majors?

@ktengann i applied to harvard yale upenn mit berkeley UCLA cornell and Imperial College, UCL in the UK

@ktengann
Are you from Wisconsin? (If you don’t mind me asking).

Just got my interview. It’s face to face, so how long should I expect it to last? Also, is the interview more about the alumni selling the school to you or selling you to the school?

@Anonymous1418

The interview typically lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour or even longer depending on the interviewer and the interviewee. The interview is about the interviewer getting to know about you more than your stats on paper. It’s not about the interviewer trying to sell the school to you or selling you to the school.

I am! @18YearsASlav Why do you ask?

@TiggerDad Thank you so much! I’m just nervous about the process so it’s nice to know some background information beforehand.
