I’ve written like half of another supplement… oops. at this point might as well wait it out, right?
this wait is killing me i’m slightly excited about the decision, but i finished all of my other apps just in case it doesn’t work out. one girl from my school got into Stanford REA, so i’m hoping i have the same luck!
@stargirll I feel the same way…two girls at my school got into Stanford REA, and I as well am hoping to have the same luck with Princeton! :-S
did anyone get a follow up email from the PFAA email?
here’s a fun question: where will you be when you open your decision, and who will be the first person you tell about the decision?
I’m going to be home with my mom. After all that she has done for me and been along with me during my college journey, I couldn’t think of a better companion to share the moment with.
Personally, I am going to summon all of my strength and not look at my Princeton decision until i have all of my supplements done. Last thing I would want is to be rejected and then just lose all my will power or creative energy, or have my essays read like someone defeated.
@18YearsASlav Wow, that takes a lot of discipline, but I think you can do it! Good luck!
I will open my decision alone at my house, and I will post it in the family group chat first so I don’t have to pick a person to tell first
@18YearsASlav i’m the opposite, I think that if I get deferred I’ll have willpower to do more… right now for me it’s like, why work on a safety supplement when I might not need it in 2 days?
When I open the decision, I’ll be alone, but I’ll tell my mother and sister first thing whichever result appears.
I’m going to record a video of my reaction, which will either be hype if I get in or funny as hell if I don’t
@orgooo same. I’ll be checking in class, but I’ll probably create an environment as isolated as possible (like hide in the corner or something) so I don’t make it a public revelation :-S
I’m still going to be in school…in the middle of an assembly…and I will undoubtedly scream if I get accepted.
I will be home probably with parents standing behind me lol
I’ll be in class towards the end of my day. Will probably text my girlfriend first, then family group message. If the result was positive, I’d probably go around and tell some teachers, too, especially those who wrote my recs.
Question for you from a mom. My daughter has had her heart set on Princeton since Freshman year and just like all of you, she will be heartbroken if denied.
So do you have any suggestions on how the family can help? Favorite foods, plan an activity, etc?? Her dad and Freshman brother and I want to be prepared for the best and the worst possible outcome. Any advice would be appreciated.
Most sincerely hope you all get in!!!
@MayBIvyMomma Im having my mom open it for me then she will dicate it to me and sugarcoat the rejection if it happens
That is a great idea. There is NO chance my headstrong daughter will let any of us see anything before she does. Tell your mom, I’m jealous!
@MayBIvyMomma this might just be my POV, but I would want just someone to hug and cry on. Don’t try to tell her things to encourage her–at least not right then. Let her do all of the talking/crying.
Also, favorite food is always comforting. Maybe go to her favorite restaurant. To me, activities aren’t great when you are sad because your heart isn’t invested.
Just be there for her. That’s all we as kids really want.
Man my nerves are crazy my friend finds out if she was accepted into harvard tomorrow and she said her anxiety is stopping her from getting sleep. This is intense.
