Whatever the outcome…I must say that Princeton has a lovely group of SCEA applicants this year of which my daughter is one of. The cordiality, sense of humor, self-awareness and amazing lists of accomplishments of the applicants on this thread is extraordinary. If not admitted, I can rest assured it was because she had fierce and worthy competition. If CC is any indicator, it is looking like Princeton’s class of 2023 will be stellar. If she is admitted I am thrilled she will be in such company. Take a look at the badgering and boasting on some of the other threads. Good luck…5 hours!
Hi I’ve been stalking this thread for the past month now lol but im super nervous?? like I don’t really expect to get in because I’m not a prodigy (wgpa 4.36 | sat 1300) but I am passionate so I really hope that showed through my app (ECs mainly politically motivated, planning marches, working with local org and congressmen, internships at city hall etc.)
but anyways you guys are all so talented and work so hard just reading through what you’ve done and Im excited for everybody that does get in because you guys really did: that. And if you don’t get in that is totally okay!!!
my interviewer told me its like drawing a card from a deck of extremely qualified and deserving people, it truly is chance
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
@Clmonp You’ve asked the question twice already - the answer will not change. It is what it is, so please don’t keep asking the question.

it feels so unreal… this morning i was having stress stomachaches and now i’m forgetting that today are princeton results… anyone agree?
@Ste11arstar ahhhh same! Just know that no matter what happens, you guys are lovely, hardworking, and accomplished individuals who can do anything you set your mind to.
“The admit rate was 13.9 percent, compared with 14.7 percent last year…” Hmmm… interesting.
For comparison,
The Class of 2022: 799/5402
The Class of 2023: 743/5335
“Students admitted early to the Class of 2023 come from 36 countries and 49 states, in addition to the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
Can’t help but hope my state isn’t the single one…
Interesting that the number of early applications decreased (even if only by 1.2%). Call it holding steady. But Brown’s early applications are reportedly up by 21%.
Any thoughts on why?
Yeah I’m wondering the same thing! How come there were less applicants overall, but then a disproportionately smaller amount of accepted people? I guess it’s kind of a stupid question, but why even decrease the acceptance rate that much?
god 2 hours. This is so nerve-wracking. And releasing the stats doesn’t help either! If the stats are out, then the decisions are final, so why aren’t the decisions out yet? I’m weeping
ah, the mysteries of admissions…
As an international applicant reading this: “The admitted students represent 48 countries and 44 states” from last year’s article and comparing it to this: “come from 36 countries and 49 states” from this year’s is sooo disheartening wow
@LincolnsGF One theory for the slightly lower acceptance rate (56 fewer early offers)–and this is nothing more than a WAG–might be that some universities may hold back a slug of admission slots in the hopes of knowing which way the wind is blowing by the RD decision release date in the Harvard trial (and then allocate them to tweak percentages here and there at RD). Not sure I put much stock in this hypothesis since the SFFA case v. Harvard is SCOTUS bound.
that’s very true. i know a lot more people are applying to upenn because of the harvard case, idk about princeton though.
