Wait this is literally insane how could they accept less people than last year?!
Duke had 800 more ED applicants this year, so maybe more people are willing to commit to binding applications.
@pappernich uh if last years was 14.7% and this years is 13.9% that’s a 0.8% decrease not 1.2%…so less than one percent not too bad right??
Good luck to everyone from the Penn ED thread! We will be in the same boat as you guys this time tomorrow!! Best of luck and you all deserve success wherever it may be
Just over an hour left everyone, stay positive! Just the fact that we have worked hard enough in our lives to justify applying to Princeton should make us all proud of ourselves!
@game7214 The 1.2% decrease is in the number of applicants, not the early action acceptance rate.
one hour left… who else is totally losing it
@game7214 0.8% decrease in the number accepted. But a 1.2% decrease in the number of early applications. It’s interesting only because of the big increases in early applications at other institutions (and the dramatic upward trend of them over the last several years). The fact that the number of early applications at Princeton this year is roughly the same (a small decrease over last year’s numbers) is what I find interesting against the backdrop of what’s going on elsewhere this year and everywhere (including the steady increases in the # of early apps each year at Princeton) the last couple of years.
Does anyone know if Questbridge acceptances are included in the 743 number?
@xDrawr ik that about 71 people were 'matched" through questbridge but maybe not? their decision was released earlier~
This could be due to two factors. One is that last year Princeton’s freshman class was over subscribed—they didn’t take anyone off the wait list. The other factor could be the dragon year effect, where there were fewer competitive applicants born in year 2000 from some Asian communities.
Columbia was the only ivy that saw a decrease in early applicants for the class of 2022 & that was only by one applicant. I did see the word “plateau” used by another ivy this season referring to the number of early applications.

Interesting regarding the number of applications.
So um… I’m a student of color and that article just gave me hope. Idk if it’s real hope, but thank you sm whoever sent that.
I love you all, and no matter what happens in a little I know you will all shine
30 min… My heart is racing
I am a Questbridge Match, and there were 73 of us. We are included in the number as we also will receive our formal acceptances tonight. Good luck!
