Princeton University Class of 2023 SCEA Applicants Thread

How long is a reasonable wait for an interview? Do alums interview everyone? I am in NYC and have not heard from anyone but submitted my application October 30th.

My son submitted on 10/31 but still has not been contacted for an interview yet.

I submitted on October 30 and live in NYC as well and was contacted for an interview on November 5! Maybe it’s in spam? Or they just haven’t reached you yet?

So I have a question… I submitted my previous ACT scores for my application when they were due. However, I took the October act and got a 35 so I directly sent those scores. Will Princeton still look at my 35 or is it too late?

Yes

thank you! it’s next monday and i’m really looking forward to it lol-- my interviewer seems really cool

did anyone submit supplemental materials for instrumental music? i went through the princeton arts supplement tag on youtube and everyone is so talented :’)

My child will have an interview tomorrow. Does the interviewer have access to the common app? or he only knows your contact information?

@kli586
I believe that the interviewer only has your contact information, though I’m not exactly sure. I just my interview as well, so good luck to your child! It’s a wonderful experience!

@Namsang88 Thank you! Do you need to bring your resume?

Yes, my D took her resume and interviewer asked questions based on what’s written in the activities section.

I think some interviewers do use resumes, but I didn’t bring a resume for my interview.

@kli586 My interviewer mentioned not to bring resume though because he wants me to ask questions.

@Chemeng102 Thank you all. The interview went well!

@kli586 Great! My interview is this Sunday. Can you share a bit your experience? Thx!

I am getting nervous because I haven’t heard from anyone about my interview. I suppose I should just be patient…

@Tash561
Don’t worry! I’m sure everything will work out fine, so just relax!

Interviews are not required as a condition of admission. Being offered an opportunity to be interviewed in based on available alumni. Application numbers have spiked in recent years and it seems that Princeton is having some challenges being able to accommodate everyone. Applications are not ranked in respect to interviews so there is no connection to the strength of your application. The two alumni interviewers that I know have indicated a wide range of likelihood of admission in the applicants they have interviewed. Keep an eye on your email and junk/spam folders for a potential offer to interview, but beyond that don’t read into it if no one contacts you in this regard.

My son submitted on 10/31 but still has not been contacted for an interview yet.

My son just had his interview this morning. He said it went well. Supposed to be around 45mins but they were done 15mins early.
