Two of the three admitted students in my school are committing. That’s two more spots gone.

lol i wonder how many people accepted a spot on the waitlist. this thread gets 700-1K views per day…already 10K…

3 admits all committed…

A friend of mine decided not to commit; she chose Harvard.

lol this is all purely anecdotal, i’ve seen people in the princeton fb group choose princeton or another school, we can’t deduce anything yet

Does anyone have any idea of when waitlistees will be notified based on past trends?

I think they sent out an email last year to all waitlistees on May 14th that the wait list has been closed. I’m assuming we’ll also find out in about 10 days whether anyone will be accepted from the list at all. As for individual acceptances, I don’t think anyone can say exactly.

But also Keep in mind that last year they did not take anyone off the waitlist. It might be an easier and quicker process last year than this year.

Yes, but it’s possible that no one will get off the wait list this year too… I really hope that’s not the case, but we have to face the odds we’re up against :S

Hmm some ivies have already announced the number of people they are taking off the wl, anyone contacted princeton yet to inquire?

I called just now and the lady I talked to said the admissions office is currently trying to decide whether or not Princeton will use the wait list at all this year. According to her, we should know by this weekend or early next week if they close the wait list.
I strangely feel like I should give up all hope.

You must also take into account that a student at the University has just been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and has been hospitalized. The University would have to take measures to make sure that the rest of the student body is healthy and remains as such. There are other things on the minds of the staff than just the wait list situation.

It has also been reported that Harvard’s yield sky-rocketed (to the dismay of the waitlistees on the 2017 Harvard thread) and is the highest that has ever been recorded in 44 years. With that being said, you can be sure that some of the students admitted to Princeton were also admitted to Harvard.

^^ Going from 80.2 % to “82 percent” is not exactly skyrocketing.

My friend got off the waitlist today! He is so happy.

More info? Geographical location? Profile of niche (athlete, STEM, humanities, etc.)?

Southeast United States (suburbs), Asian male, 2330 SAT, Valedictorian

Do you know how he was notified? ( by e-mail, phone?)

probably phone

Via the phone.

So we can now assume that Princeton’s wait list remains open this year?
