I was searching extensively for a waitlist thread for Princeton for this year (2022) class, but I could only find the 2021 one, so I figured I start this up. I was waitlisted at Princeton and was wondering about chances? Also, I received the waitlist letter in the mail and it seemed like the Princeton AO didn’t want any extra letter. Is anyone else doing anything to improve chances?
Your chances are very very very low (like 2% low):
Fall 2016
Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list
1237
Number accepting a place on the waiting list
840
Number of wait-listed students admitted
18

If you win a national award, or are published in a recognized journal, maybe update Princeton, but at this point it is about them using the waitlist to finalize piecing together the class, e.g. did they lose a left handed tuba player that is also a beekeeper? Go to the waitlist. That kind of thing.
So, did everyone got scared away by the cold facts posted by @psywar, o r some people did send something to Princeton?
@ElenaParent I ended up updating Princeton several days ago, since I sent in my application in November.
@jjumper43 I guess from this point on, we wait till at least the end of the first week of May
anyone hear anything yet?
@colorfulhuman No, this wait is so difficult.
Have internationals ever been taken off the waitlist?
yes I know one @Tahit4321k
oh okay thanks! Not any news for this year though?
I think people got called around this time from the thread last year, people at my school are getting notified by waitlists from schools like chicago and georgetown, so I’m guessing Princeton should be around the same time? is it just a phone call?
Yes, I believe they started notifying students on May 8th last year. Has anyone heard anything yet?
Nothing here. Worries me that either they are not pulling from the waitlist or taking very very few…
I just got an email from them a few minutes ago. The class of 2022 is full and they are closing the waitlist.
My son received the same one. I wonder if they took anyone off the waitlist??
I heard they only took low income students off. From my understanding, the waitlist moved minimally this year. Congrats to everyone on making at as far as we did and, for most of us, I’m sorry we didn’t quite get there. If you did get in, that’s incredibly amazing and I hope you enjoy!
Well… I’m actually less disappointed than I thought I might be.
Got the same email. I really do hope everyone enjoys their university time wherever they end up! Like Physikzguy said, It is honestly a great achievement to have made it this far.
