Out of curiosity does anyone know of a male that has been accepted yet? It seems, anecdotally, like Princeton is focusing on admitting more females (which isn’t surprising as they indicated males comprise over 50% of the incoming class).
I do know of a male who was admitted off the wait-list last year, but none this year.
It also seems like they are looking for more humanities oriented people – anyone know of any science/engineering folks who’ve gotten in this year?
23% of the class of 2019 are doing engineering and 44% of those are women. They have about a quarter of the incoming class doing engineering so I guess they want more diversity in the studies. And since they accepted 52% male and 48% female, they will most likely choose a female that’s doing something not engineering related.
There isn’t much time left either until the waitlist closes.
The list is closing soon and I’m losing hope
@anntamakloe Well at least you made the waitlist. I went in with the mentality that I’m not getting accepted, but did everything I could to increase my chances. They are taking about 30 students out of a big waitlist pool so there’s only about 1-2% chance anyway.
Besides guys like me who are doing engineering related studies have the worst luck this year as the college seems to be looking for female students doing something not engineering related.
@Vin520 yea you’re right. I honestly thought I would be rejected too, but knowing that I was fairly close to going to Princeton is kind of bitter sweet. I already really love the school I’m going to though so I guess it’s ok. I feel like there’s one round left though so let’s not give up all hope!
So it’s June 30…is the waitlist closed?
I was waitlisted and am currently committed to Brown. It’s June 30th and I don’t believe I received a phone call. Will we be notified that we were rejected via email, does anyone know?
I emailed yesterday and they said that we would know by the end of the week not today. They’ll send an email I believe.
So, if the student hasn’t heard by now, they’ve been rejected, and the email on Friday will simply confirm that? Or, is there still hope that in the next 3 days, the student will receive an email about being accepted from the waitlist? Just trying to clarify what the email on Friday will/could be.
There might be a chance to get in this week if they have any spots open. You’ll get a phone call if you get in. Or else by the end of the week they will send an email to everyone that is left saying the waitlist has closed.
I just got rejected by Princeton via snail Mail… 100% Brown
When was the postmark date @Teslot
They sent them on Monday. It’s over, folks….
Then, why did some people get them by email and others by mail?
@collegeee123 Can you reply to the email and ask if we are going to know by mail or email ? Thank you
I’m at camp right now so I don’t have access to my snail mail. So if we haven’t gotten a phone call yet have we been rejected?
I think it is safe to say yes.
received snail letter mail today,
letter is dated June 29 '15
