Do I need my own printer at NEU, or, as at some schools, do students get a page credit for printing on campus which makes owning a printer unnecessary?

you get 400 pages a semester. I rarely use more than 200, but some people complain about running out. My printer was free with the computer and it's nice to have around, but it's not completely necessary.

It's a lot more convenient to have your own printer. I hate going to the library just to print because it is sometimes very chaotic and other times full (happened to me twice). If you are an engineering major, Snell engineering is a lot better for printing. While that too gets full sometimes, the computers are a lot faster and there is free unlimited printing (although I think they are limiting it to something like 20 pages at a time. That still means you can print 100 pages, but you have to print pages 1-20, 21-40, etc.) Last place for printing is the honors program in WVF. There is free printing in the honors program office but there are only 3 computers and they get full quickly. I liked having the convenience of my own printer. If you forget to print something or find an error after you print a paper, you can always just make the changes right there at your computer instead of having to go to the library/snell engineering/WVF.

believe me, there are hidden computer labs around campus, you just have to find them. some of the student centers have computers and printers, as well as a random lab in lake hall. but it's definitely convenient to have one in your room. i always had something or other due at 8am and obviously staying up late to do it, it didnt make me too happy to wake up even earlier than normal to go to snell and print it out before class, especially if the class was on the other side of campus.
