Trying to figure out D's packing list, and am having trouble finding information on "common" printers. I see info when I search about the fact that printing is double sided (very green, very good) and students will have to swipe card to print. And I see that there are printers in the library, and I assume the hub and some classroom buildings. All okay. But is there actually a common printer in the dorm? She is in Drayer. If we can't get an answer we will probably put it in the car and see when we get there, but she is from far away. I am hoping that we will not be driving her every fall/spring back and forth, so we are trying to keep the volume of stuff down. Any insight would be great - thanks!

We took the printer the first year, but she rarely used it. There are so many common printers (I'm not sure about in Drayer though). Having to use a swipe card is new this year - it used to be free and unlimited.

I read somewhere on the web site that (1) students often don't pick up their printouts, and (2) a few students print A LOT of stuff. So I think the card idea is that the print job will now go to a central queue, and when the student swipes their card at a specific printer (and is standing there to get the printout), it will be printed. I am not sure if they are going to limit/charge for the "big users" or not, that wasn't really clear to me. Thanks for the info.
