My son received a letter from Marietta announcing their "Priority Early Application Process" under which students who apply by June 11 have the application fee, guidance counselor recommendation, and essay waived. This sounds like an excellent opportunity to put his application at the front of the applicant pool and he's definitely going to apply. One problem for us is that our teachers carried out an extended strike last fall and our academic year won't end until late June so his grades won't be available until after the deadline but we'll make the college aware of this and see what they want us to do to complete the application.

This seems like an interesting tactic on the part of Marietta's admissions department to further accelerate the application process to capture a larger pool of applicants. Hopefully it will work in our son's favor as Marietta is a good fit for him. I'm curious to see if any other prospective students are planning to take advantage of this but I'm not confident of seeing many replies given how quiet this board has been. Please feel free to add your thoughts about this, or any aspect of Marietta, to get and keep the flow of information going!
