priority numbers?

hghsch, how’d you get 109 if you applied today? i got 178 and i applied 6 am on the 14th

My priority number is 394, I hope this is a good number
My choices:
1)DeGraff
2)Broward
3)Cawthon
4)Wildwood

394 is a good number.

I’m really contemplating between Wildwood and Broward/Gilchrist. I’m #35 so I’m more than likely to get my first choice, and I want to make sure my number 1 is definitely the place I want to be. Can anyone give any insight on what is more social? And also I will be taking pre-med track classes so which buildings are closest to science classes?

salley, smith, kellum, and rogers are very close to the sciences. wildwood isn’t too far. broward is on the east side and will certainly take some time to get to the science department.

i would however like to know which ones are more social. i heard salley is social. in fact, those with suite-style are social all-around.

Thanks for the info! I just looked up the capacity for the dorms to get a feel for how many people would be there. Wildwood has 700 as opposed to Broward which has 135. My guess is that since there’s more people, there are better social opportunities.

Be cautious of salley, smith, kellum, as many here have indicated that these are not the best dorms on campus. Possibly these dorms are closer to the science buildings, but these same buildings are least desirous.

I’d be a social person on campus and I’d only be in the dorms to sleep. Thanks for the advice, though.

The dorms closest to where the Pre-Med stuff will likely be located (I don’t know for sure where they located though, I apologize) would likely be Wildwood and Salley. This is solely based off where the King Building is on the western edge of campus. Salley is practically right across the street from that building (Salley is right across the street from the Psychology building, though), and Wildwood is only a short trek from the building- maybe a 10 minute walk.

Other dorms that are close are Smith and Kellum, if you are looking into a community style dorm instead of suite style like Wildwood or Salley. They are however generally regarded as the two worst dorms on campus, although I have talked to a couple people that lived in Smith and Kellum (including my current roommate) and they said they were nowhere near as bad as the stories.

Thanks so much! I’m gonna stick with Wildwood :)

I think you will be happy with that choice. Glad to help.

With a priority number of 35, you will get whatever you put as first choice.

If I change my housing contract to standard double and my preferences do I lose my priority number?

@Kyle. No you can change your housing preference up until May I believe. You do not lose your priority number.

Thanks jena! What is your take on the best residential halls? Just wondering

Who has the highest housing priority number so far?
Anyone here yet break the 1000 mark?
Anyone?

yup. 1113 here and I signed up on the 16th at around noon

just noticed 113 is the number i use for everything (avenged113) LOL pretty big coincidence

1636 so I am nervous and I applied the 16th at around 3

Is your high priority housing number because of all the web issues on the FSU housing portal ?

The only saving grace you guys may have is that FSU accepted about 1000 less freshman than in prior years and a housing number in the low 1000’s should at least get your second choice. Also many students are still looking in their mail box for acceptances before they apply and many are just waiting to apply for various reasons. Good Luck !

@daviddj

That’s exactly what it was. The web issues do I waited. Do you think I will get my 3 or 4 choice which is degraff and gilchrist

Sorry to hear about your web issues and I guess that I just got lucky as my acceptance went through at about 430am, on the first night with a number under 200. I believe that you guys should get one of your top three choices because I have read on prior post that many kids had housing numbers in prior years, in the low 5000 numbers. Good Luck and pick your choices carefully. Don’t waste your choices on dorms you realize that you will not get. Good Luck !
