Priority Review (Early Notification)

We are in Texas and still haven’t received a letter either. I guess we’ll have to call on Monday. My daughter received the email asking to make sure of her address before the PN notifications were mailed, and then she’s just received an email asking for something else, even though her application was marked as complete. I had her check her my roc today and now it says regular decision and Early medical scholar, except she didn’t apply for early medical scholar but chose priority review instead. This is not what her my roc said a week ago. Very baffling.

I never received the email for verification of my address and I have yet to receive a letter. I’m in California and MyRoc has my correct email and home address and also says that I applied under Priority Review. It is kind of annoying that it is taking this long.

Take TSocash’s offer. Call.

I didn’t get home until 5 today and they close at 5 east coast time (2 over here). They don’t open again until Monday.

@TSocash,

Received my acceptance from Rochester yesterday. Any idea on when merit scholarships will be posted on My Roc accounts? Will merit scholarship information be sent in the mail as well? If I don’t receive a scholarship, will I be informed of that information?

IR5105,

Merit decisions will not be sent via USPS. If you are to receive a merit scholarship, this information will be revealed on your MyRoc account approximately 7 business days after your receive your acceptance letter. (We delay the merit notification because we want you to receive your acceptance letter first.) An email will also be sent to merit recipients informing them when to check their MyRoc account. Applicants who aren’t receiving a merit scholarship will not be emailed.

If you applied for need-based financial aid, that information will be emailed to the applicant approximately 10 business days after receiving your acceptance letter. Be on the look out for that as well.

Remember, we are in the midst of our most competitive year in the University of Rochester’s 163 year history. Our application total is higher than ever, and we are going to have our lowest acceptance rate of all-time. Unfortunately, not everyone will receive a merit scholarship. To see if you are competitive for a merit scholarship, check out this website: http://enrollment.rochester.edu/financial/estimator/merit.aspx

Received letter today in MA. Accepted. Relieved. Excited.

Just received a letter stating I am a Renaissance and Global Scholarship finalist!! I am estatic and looking forward to traveling to Rochester for the interview!

Can you tell what those finalist awards are for? Did you apply or were they part of your priority admission application? What is the criteria to receive one of those? Just wondering. Thank you!

Acceptance in MA also arrived today. So much happiness. Yay!

Jenny, did you have to apply separately for that or what? Was it a letter in the mail? Or email?

I didn’t apply for it, I think that anyone who applies to Rochester is considered. It came in the mail.

UR notifies Renaissance & Global finalists via Fed Ex letter. (At least that’s how it’s been done in the past.)

All UR applicants are consider for this scholarship. In the past approx 50-60 finalists are invited to interview and 20 people receive the scholarship–which is for full tuition for 4 years.

^^^Do we take it that if an applicant has not heard by now, then there is no invitation?

^^Probably. If you haven’t received an invitation by March 1, then definitely.

Ren interview weekend is usually held the week after UR students return from spring break. (March 9-17 this year.) Finalists need time to make their travel arrangments.

I finally got my acceptance letter here in California!

It says I am a Regular Decision applicant on MyRoc but I applied PR. Anyone else?

Yes, that happened to my daughter as well. They had already confirmed to her last month that they had her materials and she got the email to confirm her address for priority notification. As of the 15th, her my roc account said PN, now it says regular decision and Early Medical Scholar and we’ve no idea why. No letter of acceptance, deferral or rejection either.

All REMS applicants got bumped into RD because the committee hasn’t sat to decide who will be invited to interview for REMS yet.

If your D didn’t apply for REMS, then she should call her admissions representative Monday and ask what’s happening.

Apparently there is an either-or decision checkbox on a applicant’s file–either PR or REMS. The wrong info might have gotten checked off your D’s file.

There’s alot of data entry involved processing all the applications, and lot of it is done by student and part-time workers. Easy to make a typo/error.

Me too. Received nothing yet even a email about my application.
