Priority Review (Early Notification)

TSocash, Are you saying they get snail mailed on the 15th with no email or web site notification?? meaning kids don’t find out until 18th at earliest??

Thanks TSocash! If that is the case (starting to be mailed out a Feb. 15), I won’t get my notification for a while… I live on the west coast. I hope the waiting pays off!

If we are accepted and qualify for a merit award will it be in the letter mailed the 15th?

And the 18th is President’s Day…so no mail :(

I think the merit award letters come about a week after the acceptance letters

I believe all their merit awards are online on our MyRoc account. And that is sad! No mail on the 18th… The earliest I can get my letter would probably be the Wednesday or Thursday after the 15th… :frowning: I’m hearing from some that they already received their priority review decisions… @TSocash, are the letters sent out in any particular order?

cookie,

None of the Priority Review decision letters have gone out at this point. We have received a record number of applications this year, and we will be finalizing our Priority Review decisions throughout the upcoming week.

Merit awards are in fact delivered via the MyRoc account. If you are to receive a merit scholarship, it will appear in your MyRoc account approximately 7 business days after you received your acceptance letter. Remember, not all students receive a merit scholarship, but if you fall within (or above) our standard admit profile, you will be competitive for a merit award: [University of Rochester : Financial Aid](http://enrollment.rochester.edu/financial/undergrads/scholarships.shtm)

I will happily post an update if anything changes, and I want to thank you for your patience as we work to shape the University of Rochester Class of 2017!

@TSocash Is the “address verification” email an indicator that someone might be accepted or is there no relation at all?

^I’m not affiliated with UR but I am 99% sure there is no relation. They need the addresses that the rejection letters are getting sent to, too.

It’s just weird that not everyone has received the email though.

Chris,

Everyone who has provided us with a valid email address should have received that email. (It is possible that only the Priority Review applicants received it at this time. I’m not sure if it went out to Regular Decision applicants as well.) We simply wanted to make sure that the address we have on file for you is correct. It is not an indicator for any type of admissions decision.

Hmmm. I applied Priority review and haven’t gotten it. Would the fact that I had an interview (presumably confirming my address) make any difference? Or the fact that I’m overseas?

I wouldn’t worry. When you log in to your MyRoc account can you see your home address? Is it correct? Then you’re all set!

Tsocash, is there any correlation between being accepted as a finalist for the Simon Case Competition scholarship and your admission decision for the University of Rochester?

I have the same question as @jwolfgang

If you were identified as a Simon Case Competition finalist, then we believe that you are very strong student with unique business credentials. I cannot say with certainty (much like the other Combined-Admission Programs) that 100% of all finalists will receive an acceptance letter. There is a strong correlation between being selected as a finalist and being accepted, but I don’t want to guarantee anything until you are holding the acceptance letter in your hands.

All applicants will have an admissions decision by April 1st.

I applied under priority review, but withdrew my application because I was accepted to my ED school. But I still received the address verification email? Should I call admissions again?

Wow! Decisions should be in soon! I’m so excited to hear back!

Seems like only a week left. It’s going to go by soooooo slow… Hopefully my solid midyear report will give me a boost as far as scholarships are concerned.

Ever since I submitted my application in November, it has seemed like an endless wait. @TSocash… UR does not require IDOC right?

cookie,

This is straight off our website:

We participate in the College Board’s IDOC service. Applicants who are required to submit their 2012 tax information as part of their aid application will be contacted via email by the College Board with instructions and deadline information. If you are unable to submit your 2012 tax information to IDOC by the priority deadline of 12:00 am EST, March 1, be sure to submit your CSS PROFILE and FAFSA by the deadlines using estimates and send copies of your 2011 federal tax returns directly to the Financial Aid Office. Be aware that you will need to submit your 2012 tax information to IDOC as soon as you are able. If you have questions regarding the IDOC process, email your counselor or visit the IDOC’s Frequently Asked Questions section on the College Board’s website.
