Has anyone used this product?
I have mild acne and am thinking of getting it... Does anyone recommend/not recommend it?
If you've used it, how long does it take to work and to what extent?
Only thing is it's costly...
I'd really like to have perfect skin before college though.

I used Proactiv for two years with nearly no results. What a waste of time and money...

What finally cleared up my acne was washing my face with a gentle cleanser (soap = bad), applying 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel, and applying alpha hydroxy moisturizer twice daily.

Proactiv is simply benzoyl peroxide. Save your $ and buy generic clearisil

I got perscribed something called Dalacin T by my doctor and it works really well... I've seen a definite improvement in my skin.

Proactiv works kind of. But don't waste your money. There are cheaper options.

And I know its a pain, but you just got to keep finding what works for you. Be sure to see the active ingredients in everything you try so you don 't waste time and money buying a new product that does the same thing.

My problem with Proactiv was that you had to first apply the cleanser, and then apply the other stuff, and then apply the moisturizer stuff, twice a day. I am just not ambitious enough to go through such a process twice a day consistently. When I did use it like it tells you to, it did work pretty well for me. If you really do want clear skin and don't mind the time/money, then I guess I'd recommend trying it.

Woah, twice a day? Damn.

And yah.... Its too many steps. The basic package is 3 steps, but 3 steps is too many.

I end up doing all three steps once 3 weeks. Using the other ones whenever I remember to.

So obviously, Proactiv doesn't give AMAZING results. If it did, you best believe I would be using that thing THREE times a day! It just makes my face feel smooth and then I don't get any pimples (but I don't get them in the first place). It doesn't get rid of any marks I've had from the past or anything.

There is a product out there that I want to get. That mini-microderm abrasion thing. I think that will help me more than proactiv

Doesn't work. My friend has the most unfortunate face, and she's been using it for two years. I've seen no differences. And I KNOW she puts it on twice a day, because even at sleepovers, she would leave to go put it on in the bathroom in the middle of the night.

But then again, it could also largely rely on who the person is. I have no idea.

Idk..it is sort of a hassle. I do it at night and just wash my face in the morning, and it's just about the same effectiveness/cost as the stuff my determologist prescribed (his stuff starts at like rid. prices)

It works pretty well for me when I actually use it, but it also really dries my skin out. Neutrogena products worked just as well for me and they're way cheaper.

Noxama > ProActiv

i use proactiv and it works decently in my opinion. i don't pay for it though, so I can't say if it's worth the money or not. i use the 3 steps... which really isn't so much of a hassle as people are making it. it only takes a couple of minutes, which isn't a big deal if you care what you look like.

It worked for me when nothing else (other than dermatologist treatments) would.

Just buy regular 2.5% benzoyl peroxide.

I have mild acne, in the T zones, and proactiv did nothing for me. Washing with cetaophil works just as well.

Proactiv didn't work for me at all. I'm now using mdformulations teen anti-acne kit and bareminerals make-up, both of which I bought at the BareMinerals store when I went to the Water Tower Place in Chicago during the unified audition days (Feb. 5-7, 2007). My skin is SO MUCH more clear. I saw a definite improvement within the first week. I haven't had any huge breakouts since I started using the product...and I would strongly recommend it to anybody struggling with acne.

for some reason, proactiv and murad didnt work for me
my friends us Acutane but i heard its pretty dangerous and it messes up ur body
anyone here ever use acutane?

I use clearisil. It works but it works very slowly.

Has anyone ever had microdermabrasion done? I heard it's just a mild peel kinda thing, but can help to get rid of acne scars and shrink pores (problem of mine) because it removes the top (dead) layer of skin.

I haven't had microdermabrasion, but I use this gel like cream that my dermatologist prescribed me and it works really well. I never really thought of using proactive because most people say it doesn't work for them!!
