<p>For the essay in which one supplies his or her favorite quote as a starting point, can one merely place the quote at the top of the page by itself with the essay below, or must one incorporate it into the essay somehow? I have a book quote and an essay that encompasses it, but attempting to integrate the quote into the beginning of my essay would end up clumsy...I appreciate any feedback, thanks!</p>
<p>If it’s the same prompt as two years ago (“Using a quote of your choosing as a springboard…”), then no, you don’t have to incorporate the quote into your essay. I literally just slapped it on the top of the page in italics.</p>
