because its so indie, but anybody here like Reindeer Section? Because I recommend them to anybody into Snow Patrol.

I do!
Gary Lightbody = <3.
reindeer section also has a couple people from belle and sebastian and someone from mogwai in it, I think. Very cool band.

Yes, I've heard of the band but "because its so indie" c'mon man.

lol THEYARE INDIE!

I don't really think they're so unpopular though. A few different people I know (with similar taste in music to mine) listen to them. They seem to be fairly well known among people who listen to that low-key indie rock type of music. I bet more people know of them in Scotland/Ireland/England than here.

jinp6301, what other music do you listen to?

I am a hardcore SP fan!!!! I mostly listen to indie rock: the honorary title, the shins, and british rock: muse, travis, keane, and some punk/emo: rise against, taking back sunday, brand new, and omg my fingers hurt from typing my english report so I won't write anymore.

*** is up with this whole trying to name favorite bands that no ones ever heard of to sound cool? I mean, I get it, but its stupid. Notwhithstanding all the really crappy pop that's immediately identifiable as crappy pop, if a band is popular, its probably because its well known. Not that there isn't obscure **** that's great, but it can't all rock.

LOL, W T F is starred. Save us from the dirty words, er, abbreviations, righteous CC censor!

omg i totallly agree with you mediocretes! (i'm not talking about you cc'ers specifically!) people act like friggin' posers and claim to be into all these random underdogish bands. it's now mainstream to be anti-mainstream! for heaven's people sake just listen to what sounds good.

OMG JINP...u mentioned the most awesome bands...if u can't tell I AM a music freak...esp indie music. Honorary title rock, travis, muse, b&s...all amazing bands! I'm going to see Keane in feb. I love snow patrol i was supposed to see them in sept...but yea thatdidn't work out. do you guys like songs for polar bears more than final straw??
I actually have never heard of reindeer section...i will check em out. Anyone hear like the bravery and arcade fire?

yes, indie is "in" nowadays

mediocrates, most of my favorite bands are from overseas and thus they're not well-known over here. Whenever I name my favorite bands, it makes me seem like an elitist *******.

name em please!

yeah i've heard of them. i like them a lot
name em please
It wouldn't matter, you haven't heard [of] them :)

how do u kno?...hahahah

Trust Me.
Just quickly browsing through my Winamp playlist:

Avantasia, Bal-Sagoth, Borknagar, Curriculum Mortis, Dragonforce, Elvenking, Ensiferum, Falkenbach, Finntroll, Hammerfall, Kalmah, Kamelot, Moonsorrow, Orphaned Land, Rhapsody, Silent Force, Skyclad, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Symphony X, Wintersun.

Kamelot and Symphony X are the only American bands in there.

Ok...so I was wrong...I don't kno those bands. But umm are those the names of like german metal bands or something because I kno there are plenty of those bands that people listen to band from the sound of it...it kind of seems like they are. I could be wrong...

German: Avantasia, Silent Force
British: Bal-Sagoth, Dragonforce, Skyclad
Norweigan: Borknagar,
Swedish: Curriculum Mortis, Hammerfall
Italian: Elvenking, Rhapsody
Finnish: Ensiferum, Finntroll, Kalmah, Moonsorrow, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Wintersun
Icelandic: Falkenbach
Israeli: Orphaned Land

And you're right, most of these are classified as metal bands (though they aren't the stereotypical, screaming, blood-drinking, kill yourself bands) and a better classification would be heavy classical or symphonic metal. Elvenking has one of the best violin players in the world in the band and Skyclad features the London Philharmonic on it's newest album. I just like bands that are talented, I suppose.

lol cool...yea i like talented bands too ...lol
